I would say Tippett is being used as an example for players to be extra careful about 3rd party deals.

Swans have confirmed they will still draft Tippett.

You are right, they go caught and will now have to cop it. I think that the club got off lightly really, if it wasnt my team I would call for at least an extra year of draft penalties. Dont get me wrong, happy about it but I am surprised. They have a decent enough list for next season and the one after, hardly seems much of a penalty. If they didnt already have Crouch on the list this year I dont think that they would have handed in their first two this draft.

the loss of father son selections in 2013 is interesting...is there anyone on the horizon for the crows for next year anyway?

That's about the outcome I'd expected if guilt was established, unlike the earlier hyperbolic predictions of some wishful Crow haters. ;)
Overall it sounds fair to me though I'd thought they'd be a bit softer on Tippett.

More often than not she is. She doesn't sugar coat it when interviewed on 5aa and that obviously rubs some precious supporters up the wrong way.

Harper got off light, Trigg must be sacked, wouldnt last in the corporate world if he made those mistakes.

Tippett gets the biggest penalty of the lot, all he is guilty of is employing a dickhead agent.

Crows deserved a heavier punishment. Tippett's was about right.

Food for thought dutch. If he had no knowledge of what was going on as he still says, then really shouldnt he be sueing his agent?

I still doubt he had no idea what wad happening. He may not of knew all the details of where the payments came from but he knew he was getting some side action.

Agree Stan. Why else would Balfours go for someone so wooden when they could have gone for a more marketable personality eg Vince, Burton, McLeod

Have to agree he should be taking legal action. His QC has stfu !!

This would be an option shut case if taken to the high court.

I see he is now claiming he didn't know that what he was signing was against AFL rules and that it is the Crows fault.
He isn't even blaming the agent who negoiated it for him.
Sure, Kurt, I believe you... ;)

If that's what he truly belives we haven't heard the end of this as he will be taking legal action for sure.
