Just had that storm come through my area Logan. Mutiple strikes at once, no hail though, reports of possible tornado

A lot of VERY close strikes , defining thunder , no hail yet

Destructive winds, heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding and large hailstones are likely.

4cm hail was reported near Millmerran at 4:40pm.

Emergency Management Queensland advises that people should:
* Move your car under cover or away from trees.
* Secure loose outdoor items.
* Avoid driving, walking or riding through flood waters.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
* For emergency assistance contact the SES on 132 500.

The next warning is due to be issued by 6:25 pm.

A more general severe thunderstorm warning is also current for the Darling Downs and Granite Belt and parts of the Central Highlands and Coalfields, Central West, Maranoa and Warrego and Southeast Coast districts.

Warnings are also available through TV and Radio broadcasts, the Bureau's website at http://www.bom.gov.au or call 1300 659 219. The Bureau and Emergency Management Queensland would appreciate warnings being broadcast regularly.


waiting for BOM to confirm on the tornado at marburg.

All seems to have calmed down here now, little rain at most. More on the cards for tomorrow.
Ah well, love me Brisbane storms :D

Thunderstorms are moving towards the north to northeast. Very dangerous
thunderstorms are forecast to affect Brisbane CBD, Nudgee, Samford and Aspley by
6:05 pm and Strathpine, Redcliffe, Deception Bay waters and Beachmere by 6:35
pm.

They are forecast to affect Toolara, Double Is Point, Rainbow Beach and Wide Bay
by 6:35 pm.

Destructive winds, heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding and large
hailstones are likely.


9cm hail was reported at near Boonah at 4:45pm.
A 90 km/hr wind gust was recorded at Double Island Point at 3:35pm.
6cm hail reported at Biggenden at 2:00pm.
3-4cm hail reported near Beerburrum at 2:40pm.
3cm hail was reported at Caboolture at 2:20pm.
4cm hail was reported at Jandowae at 1:50pm.
2-3cm hail was reported at Yamanto at 1:10pm.

Looks like darwin is going to get some decent rain at last. Been a brutal couple of weeks up here. You see some weird stuff up here in the mango madness.

An early cyclone forecasted for middle of December also.

About able hour too early for my liking... with the way the temp was climbing and a compulsory knock off of work @ 38 I should of been home by now

I prefer the dry heat to it being humid, so much easier to get used to I reckon. Been a tough week working outside in the heat, you get used to it pretty quickly though.
