Good luck to Iggies if the Club thinks it can work around that arrangement.

Not sure where you heard this from, but it is simply not true. No deal was put to the club by Greg Anderson during the recruitment process, and there is no "assistant coach arrangement" in place for the club to try and work around.

Old Iggies have assembled a quality group of assistant coaches for next year, including former SANFL players Josh Willoughby and Ant Sheehan, who have been involved with the club in previous seasons. None of them have been brought in to the club by Ando.

Is Willoughby back playing??

Unfortunately not. His knee was wrecked in 2011 and he will never play footy again.

yep terrible injury that one, can still remember it was right infront of me. I think it was the second tme he had done that type of injury (more than a standard ACL) so not suprising it was career ending. very unfortunate

McGee I think is coaching?? Heard Millar is heading somewhere in the BLG league

Correct - Scott is a 380 game premiership player, past A grade B & F, A grade assistant coach and U18 coach. Top credentials I believe and an aven better club man.

Awesome appointment for the club IMO, Scotty has stacks of respect around EP and not only from the players but the committee members and supporters too. Whatever division they end up in i'm sure he will do a great job!

Top bloke and i wish him luck

Obviously Kilburn recruited heavily for 2012. How did Salisbury's team compare to their 2011 GF side?

How big is the step up?

In 2012 we had virtually the same side from 2011, minus a couple (Sampson and Schutt), replaced by a couple of good kids.

you also have to put in div 3 was a weaker comp then in 2011. It could possibly be weaker again in 2013 or it could be stronger. Kilburn would of made in 2011 but would of been 4/5 and not the powerhouse of div 3 like they where this year. In 2011 you had Flinders park, Portland, SMOSH and Mitcham who recruited some big names. But in 2012 the only team that recruited was Kilburn and from memory Smosh and Mitcham lost players.

might get the names spelled wrong. jenkinson (made team of the decade) Quinn, there was a midfielder can't remember name, he was a younger fella, there was also some handy b graders that would push for a grade that went away for some of the year or had other commitments.

We tried to get Josh Allen from Norwood to the country but he has signed with Athelstone in Div 3. Very handy footballer, played league footy last year - not sure why he has left Norwood & we hoped to pick him up but he is staying in the city.

Pat Jenkison retired 4 years ago.. Blokes like Fraser, Tarca, Nick Martin, and NathanFoulis are all still playing albiet not A grade and certainly not retired.. Simpson centreman retired 5 years ago, Peek left for Roxby 5 years ago. Recent centres Porplyica, and Netchitowski are still there. Cibich missed only 8 games being overseas and Quinn only played a handful of games at the Lions anyway.

Charlie Rae was the only significant loss.........no recent retirements impacting the Senior side....

pat jenkinson played last year (2011) he came back in 2011 played only a grade but ended up missing some of the games at the end due to injury. cibich was a lost 8 games nearly half the year. nick martin played a grade this year and should of played a lot more. and also put in the fact that there where a few injuries to a graders. smosh was definately a weaker side this year then compared to 2011.

The inclusion of Emment Cashell Aiden Parham (both in the D3 Team of the Year) Chris Molitor,Jackson Press, Lachlan Pink, Ryhs Crampton and Ryan Bowman into the A Grade side hardly made us a weaker side than in 2011. They went one better in 2012 ...made the GF... albeit losing to Kilburn, and I think Coach Lucas Stubing would argue your point..... again Charlie Rae was the only significant loss.....

going one better in a weaker comp doesn't mean they where a better side. Flinders park and portland would of smashed everyone this year. look at mitcham lost a handful of a graders and played finals. smosh 2011 side was a better side then 2012.

when we won div 4 and went into div 3 we kept the same side just about 1-2 came in 1-2 went out half way through the div 3 season we sat second before a second half fade out we finished 6th

we lost least 7-10 players that first 2011 season

and we couldnt replace some of them and it showed i personally say 2011 was a stronger comp that year....and 2012 considering we didnt win a game i still think it was no where near as strong as 2011

div 2 and div 3 is where you wanna be at for a club....and that attracts the right players div 1 attracts the $$$ players
