I think Ovingham are slowly going the way of the Buffallo............

It's official UniSA/ Ovingham in D7. Uni SA will play at the back of Adelaide High jumper is royal blue with white sash. Ovingham not happy and clearly stated last nigh that they want nothing to do with UniSA.

At the moment UNI SA have little or no players so my source tells me have tried luring players from other clubs but with no success.

Another great start for them last night as they received their first fine since their formation as they failed to show up to the AGM & Delegates meeting!!!!

Promising start I think not!!!!

Will be dead by round 7 after all the thrashings they will receive as the players lose interest!!!!
2017, 2019 & 2020 PREMIERS
RICHMOND, RICHMOND, RICHMOND.

Let that be a lesson to you Sturt. You don't beat Glenelg 3 times in a row in Grand Finals and get away with it.

Have the SAAFL allowed in their budget for a couple of trainers to attend one of the grounds to help clubs out with volunteers, especially the ones that will have 3 teams at three different grounds on the same day.... All for the new team and wish them all the best, but why div 7 when we have C grade comps that cater for one team. Thought it would make sense to let them develop and then when they have 2 teams promote them, but maybe that makes too much sense. Feel sorry for Ovies and TTG who have had their hand forced

I think the answer to your question was raised last night in that people are always complaining about C grade teams having to play A grade teams in 7 so they put UniSA in 7. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

I can see it happening in the second half of the season where Ovingham will be playing B Grade and there won't be a game after it.

The new committee as of the 2011 AGM promoted themselves as the saviour of the SAAFL and promised to turn things around. This would go down as one of the biggest cock-ups in the history of the league, and when it fails they should be held accountable.

Really proves just how much respect the powers that be have for the lower divisions.

Look forward to seeing your nomination come next AGM
as for one of the biggest cock ups in history, I would think that is a slight over reaction
You take things on face value and hope they will be competitive, yes we get it wrong like letting one side get relegated 3 times in Div 6 before making them go to Div 7

I just think that Ovingham should of been the A grade team and UniSA start as the B grade team. That way if the Uni team fall over after a few rounds at least it is only the B grade game that is being forfeited on the day not the A grade game.
I look forward to EM sly sarcastic attack on my club now.

 your alright
You forget that I come from a Club who started off in Div 7 and in 2009 were also in Div 6
Trust me I know the frustrations of being in the lower grades

To shed some light as to why the reason is that Uni SA want to have 2 sides in 2014, thats why they were put is the D7 side. Ovingham have been a 1 team side for many years and have not informed the SAAFL of any intention to go to 2, hence they were put in D7R

In an ideal world the D7 comp would be for A and B Grade sides only
Hopefully that happens in the next couple of years but until then you have to make things fit and the reality is you really cant run an 11 team comp, which is what would happen if they were both made to play in the C Grade comp as C1-4 all have 10 teams that have nominated

The other thing here to remember is that the proposal is put up by the SAAFL; The Clubs voted this in last night

And the clubs can only go on what is told to them by the League. I wish them good luck but going by the people that i have spoken to they will be lucky to have a team half way thru the season. I do hope for the leagues and the other Div7 teams sake this is wrong. I guess they showed last night how organized they are by not even attending the AGM.

In a positive Flinders Uni should avoid the wooden spoon next season and will get a couple of wins on the board :D

Thats right EM, and you've been there the whole time. Yet you still get on here like a smart *** and be the voice for the Executive. How many years of the same crap before you sort this div 6, 7 mess out. BTW, we at Ingle Farm will worry about where we play and where we want to get to without your enormous support and encouragement. Thanks anyway. :x

How is the league going to deal with the logistics of it all?? The sensible thing would be for them to play half their games at Ovingham and half at UniSA's oval......but that is the sensible solution ;) ;)

one way to look at it and has merit but they are seperate clubs and have the right to 9 home games like everyone else

The fact that every club gets split once during the year is surely better than the alternative of possibly having a bye, which could be the case

I am sure that it could be worked out to start the B Grade at 12 and the A Grade at 2:20 allowing for 20 or so minutes to travel from Ovingham to Adelaide High School, which would be around a 5 minute drive
