Weather was good early but wind started to pick up around 11.
We only got a few whiting and squid, along with some undersize whiting we threw back.
Couldnt believe how many puffer fish we caught, would have been in excess of 50, plus probs about 20 odd trumpeters, few tommies and a spanish mackrel.
Was planning on going on a crab sunday but the wind was a bit strong so gave it a miss

What ground was that on?
Shallow or out a bit deeper.

it was the first time I had been out. We tried a few different spots, some in close some a bit deeper. Think we were fishing in water anywhere from 4-5m up to 12-15m.
He said usually the spots have whiting at them. Seemed like a few people incountered the same problem as us when we spoke to a few at the ramp.

Day time fishing in the bay from the cape to Moonta won't yield much.
Early morning or late arvos should do ok.

Will be sitting at Broughton on Boxing Day from ball one.

Went to go fishing on the weekend at Wallaroo. Has been planned for a couple of weeks as a boys weekend, ie no wife or kids!
Conveniently we decided to leave the boat at home. We did however pack 1 rod and 1 crab net for show.
Was a top weekend! 8)

As long as you make sure they bounce 3-5 metres off the outboard on their way back in, then thats fine.

There'll be enough boats at Moonta/Hughes over the Xmas break without announcing to a broader audience that there's spaniards on offer in the bay... :p  ;)

I have Navionics on my phone. Has depths, nav markers, dangerous obstacles etc. All the navigation charts that you would get on a GPS. I use it as back up, or if I'm on someone else's boat I can ping the mark also.
