But lets get one thing straight... Justin, whilst brisk at times, is not quick. There are no quicks in this comp anymore. Justin's strengths are his discipline, line and length and movement both ways. And as he hits hit late 20's he'll be even better...He's past 200 wickets at only 21.

Westies have had some good ones over the years with Glen North and Robbie Drake featuring prominently. Now Glen North...he was quick.

hey oz i have never had the chance to play div 1 m8 but i tell you one thing glen north bent his back to me last year and was still very sharp and a top bloke to boot....

Sharp by the standards of the grade, but imagine the fury 15 years ago when he was a young man. And a brilliant bloke.

Mate, he's the quickest Ive seen in this comp. You should've seen him 1993-2000.

At 13.5 and apart from a couple of games all in grade 1.

I've heard some say Dave Kershaw was a better bowler than Johnny or Rob Drake. Davies definitely not a once in a lifetime bowler, though. Perhaps by current standards it's hard to see where someone as good as him will come along, but I bet Oz will say the top 10 PDCA bowlers from the last 20 years are all around his standard or better.

Dave Kershaw made the ball talk. I've heard stories of his Para Teachers days when he was actually quick. Would've been a handful.

Where do they sit compared to Kev Thomas and Willie Searle at their peak?

I played Grade cricket with Kev so I've seen him off the full run. He was quick. He only bowled off a few steps in this comp and we didnt see the best of him. If he bowled off the full run on a hard wicket surface, he'd have killed someone.

Willie... Look, all these blokes have their days, like any bowler. Ive faced a really sharp spell from Willie, only to see him struggle for rhythm another day. Same with all these quicks. Its the 1 or 2 games a season where they get it right, where you wish you were playing against someone else.....although facing these blokes made you concentrate a lot more which I thoroughly enjoyed. It was most challenging.

Hard to tell for me I was 16 facing jonesy and Bevis etc etc by the time willy and kev came along also kenny mac I was probably 20ish so by then I was a tad more sensible at had learnt fear.

Me and jonesy was a miss match, I was 16 and 4ft nothing facing him at his peak, luckily he was only ever one ball away from breaking down. It was scary

Quickies I have seen at EP were

Steve Warren
Kenny McConnell
Kev Thomas
Jason Mobbs
Ben Hancock
Chris willow Wilson

Thinking about it the quickest I ever faced was a bloke called Troy Bennie iirc was a ruckmen who had no real interesest in cricket. Only played one year, was so erratic and the quickest I remember

I faced Willow and Sean O'Brien when they played for Salisbury North in my second A Grade game at 14..

The same year I played in the Grade 3 GF in our B's and Steve Warren broke the batsmans arm who retired hurt whilst I was next in.

Yeah, that was awesome...

And to think there were batsmen around who would have found their pace comfortable.

i was playing in the Bs when the As included these guys and CCC won grade2.... I was a pretty good fielder back then because i was too scared to go in the nets for a hit at training  mick frasier use to worry me a bit too, but that was more the angle coming at me... had never faced a left arm quick before (and haven't since).
