I can see UniSA getting handed some beltings and hope the keep at it.

So this is confirmed then?! They both definately coming into 7?

i think this wont work or how is it supposed to work, or better yet, is it just an imaginary story creation made to keep some summer conversation going on this forum

what happens to the surplus players. unisa picks their 21 players for the upcoming game, were do the blokes that werent picked played? maybe theres up to 10 players training every week and not getting a game?? What they just hang around and spectate every week? im sure we'll see unisa forfeiting matches due to lack of numbers by the time winter hits

also do unisa take ovinghams best players last week? and where do ovinghams excess surplus players play?

both clubs will shrink

if there really is a unisa side how bout they just go play for ovingham instead of eventually being bound to f#^k up our season when we dont have a match to play this week cos unisa is forfeiting

Marbles all i can say is that it is def on the proposed gradings to be presented at the AGM. I understand all the concerns you have noted. I can see some forfeits coming on

Would imagine both will compete as seperate clubs still, would be no different to Ovies over past couple seasons where they have been in only a C grade comp and players miss out on a game.

I think by entering only 1 team to start with, you can build a solid foundation of players and helpers etc and then the next season look to expand to two teams..

The hard part is, what happens to say Ovies if they cant get 2 sides the year after? Back to the C grades?

But i'm with you on the last comment, i'd much rather see them join Ovies or vice versa and create one stronger entity than to allow two average/weak clubs trying to compete

Blackfriars started in Div 7 and did pretty well in their first year.

UniSa has a student population of around 37,000. With the right people and a bit of luck, I think they COULD do well. I can see why the mozzies are a bit negative on the whole idea.
Where's Bill? Yeah... Hmm... Bill is on the Villa Quatro, on the road to Salina. I will draw you a map.

Who's negative about them? I've seen some of the players they've got and they'd want to recruit unbelievably between now and Round 1 to be anything like Blackfriars in their first year. I've seen a fair bit of Div 7 the last few years so just stating my opinion mate. I'd even back your mob to give em a touch up.

One of South Adelaide's major sponsors is Flinders Uni and they have trained at Flinders in the past during pre-season. Might be them ????

i can assure you all it was not South, they did train there late last week though I'm led to beleive.

the club training on the top oval was indeed Flinders Uni.

Plus Blackfriars had a A and B grade team straight up. What happens when some of these basketballers come football players find it a bit tough and walk away, cant start grabbing players from there B grade.
I welcome the team i just think they should be playing in a C grade comp and not Div 7.

Why cant we just let the rivers flow naturally. Bring smosh and broadview upto div 7, flinders uni and smithfield to div 8, unisa and ovingham in c1.

U dont put grade 5 students into grade 7 in primary school nor would ya put grade 4's into high school etc etc

let the football make the choice, why puppetteer crap that will only make things crapper

Because the c grade divisions should be for c grade sides... (Division 7 should be the minimum grade for a grade clubs.)
Because they've got to find out what level they need to attain to become part of the league and doing this sooner rather than later is better for all clubs ie fewer years of fiddling around with clubs and their gradings.
Because the league should have bigger things to worry about than gently introducing new clubs when existing clubs often struggle for numbers.

PS, rivers naturally flow downhill, perhaps they should start in div 1 and head down annually... :)
always forgive your enemies...nothing annoys them so much

Div 7 has come too far to go backwards. I'm with you Riddler, they will get DEEEEEEstroyed. Why on earth would you go down the path of bringing in a brand new club with a 'C' division team to to make up the numbers. Good God, Broadies and Smosh's C grade's are around the TTG mark. What an absolute joke. Vote with your fingers people.

Ok mate no problem, good points u make, only one question, how do you work out what club plays A grade and what club plays B grade?
If Ovingham win the flag in Div7r do they just stay there?

omg

smosh & broadies come up to play the likes of Henley, Sacred Heart, Flinders Park (THEY RISE AS A CLUB AGAINST THEIR PARALLEL opponents )

Smithfield & Flinders Uni go into div 8 (HIGHLY LIKELY TO PLAY FINALS - WE HOPE)

Unisa band together in C1, get a core unit together, attract more players for 2014 to go into Div 8 (THEY BEGIN AND FIND THEIR FEET)

Ovingham hopefully do the same in C1

EVERYONE WINS YA FREAKS

You Div 7 people are a bit precious.
Div 7 is not its own little entity...what do you mean its come to far...its still the lowest A grade div.
Why would they get 'DEEEEEEstroyed'??

I don't see the issue in giving an opportunity in the lowest div to a club that, on the face of it, would have the potential to be successful.
Playing in the C grade comps would discourage potential players.
