yeah its good to see a whole team of 11 come back n have a beer n socialise. the day was played in great spirits, with plenty of good cricket from both sides. Relationships between the two clubs have always been very good during the 5 years i have played in PDCA.
Troy Scott dominated the score card with a commanding 78 including a few monstrous sixes... including a one handed bomb over deep square leg, and one that landed well into the playground on the road side of the ground. Jenner was just relentless in his lines and lengths and with his variations of swing and movement he had the batsmen guessing all day long. and just quietly, without giving him too big of a head, Bedgegood also bowled 2 very tidy spells i must admit. game is in the balance i reckon, very much
looking forward to next week
Yep Scott batted well after he was plumb earlyHe played some great shots for sure.. As for DJ, a very smart bowler.. It doesn't take him long to work batsmen out, set them up and send them on their way. Was also nice to see an honest square leg for a change in relation to run outs & stumpings.. Helps set up the spirit of the game you speak about when a bloke's honest. We to are looking forward to next week & a few coldies with you lads afterwards..

Be a good time to raise the 6 team per grade debate as well, the bottom 4 in Grade 1 all seem to be in the same sort of ball park and Grade 2 I think will start creating gaps, kind of hard for Rosie's, Westie's & Vale to have B's in Grade 2, Eastern Park would have to be clear cut favourite's though IMO.

GRADE 1
ATCO 1/97 vs Vale 91
Craigmore 9/309 vs Virginia
Westies 2/109 vs Units 103
Goats 199 vs Rosies 0/12
ATCO should be looking for quick runs and push for an outright win, same as Westies, get about 150-160 in front and have another bowl. Craigmore you'd assume have enough runs on the board, should be a cracking day's cricket up at McGilp Oval, where the Billiegoats could open up a bit of a buffer from the main pack.
GRADE 2
Gardens 4/108 vs Westies 79
Sal. Nth 190 vs Parkers 1/40
Rosies 127 vs Riverside 1/43
Smitty 4/203 vs Vale 186
Gardens should take clear top after this week, they have had a favourable draw though, they meet the Parkers, Smitty & Riverside over the next 3 rounds though to give us a better indication where they're at?
Parker's should keep their unbeaten record in tact and Riverside should be able to account for Rosie's from here.
Smitty should be making every possible effort to gain an outright win to consolidate a spot in the 4 with a bit of a buffer.

B grade sides playing C grades isn't a big deal, but you'd need to make sure a sides in the position that Wasleys are can play where they might be competitive. I don't see any benefit in having A1 reserves.

Would have thought there might have been a couple of venues that have the facilities to hold two games at the same time?
On the bright side, at least we got the late game. Pretty sure we have a couple of fellas that have a Christmas show on the Saturday night.

Have to agree , only way a 1 reserves works is if they are a grade sides that can come up to grade 1.

Not to mention you would then lose as much as 4 games of cricket per season.
