Lumet is one of the greats, no doubt.

But here is that rare phenomenon where the director and actors defer to the screenwriter.

Unlike say, Robert Redford and All the President's Men.

According to Redford, he wrote that Oscar-winning screenplay, not William Goldman.

Thankfully the WGA West blew that piece of revisionist history horses#!t to pieces...
