Yeah I had a surgery review appointment scheduled for 3.10. They rang me up around midday and asked if I could do a 2pm.

Got there at 1.55 seen the surgeon at exactly 2 and after doing a few exercises, checked the incisions and was told what I am to do for the next two weeks was out of there by 2.10.

Based on that I should have a good weekend!!!

Sonya Ryan is a worthy winner if South Australian of the year.
Darren Berry close second apparently

this may offend a few, but here goes.
Where was she when her daughter was going all goth and going into chatrooms of a dubious nature that led to the situation her daughter found herself in? Why does she recieve an award that is basically rewarding her pathetic parenting earlier because her daughter happened to end up murdered by some sicko. I realise that keeping your kids under 24hr a day surveillance is impossible, but perhaps a little proactive parenting earlier, like taking the kids computer away from her or maybe setting a better example(just an example as I have no personal idea what sort of mother she was), then maybe she would'nt have a cause to crusade. Just my opinion, but, in my eyes, she does not deserve this award
ps. I have a 13 yr old daughter myself, and whilst not a "helicopter parent" by any stretch, I regularly talk to her, her teachers and scan her browser history, just as a responsible parent would.

and you have raised some good points, the same as this schoolies thing, no way would I let my kids go, far too many lurking sickos out there. Maybe she could have been awarded the "closing the gate after the horse has bolted" award. On the other hand, we don't know what they did beforehand.

Care to elaborate, or does your exhalted status allow you to denegrate the opinions of others without offering a credible defence?

Well, I'm glad you asked ...

This bit is disgraceful IMHO.

I don't know the woman, but she has endured a horrific tragedy and seems that she is determined to avoid the same situation happening to others.

I also don't know what sort of parent she was to her daughter, but you seem very sure that she's a pathetic parent ... interested in how do you come to this conclusion?

From my limited understanding of the situation, she appears to be a very brave woman who deserves the recognition she has obtained, unfortunately due to tragic circumstances.

I applaud her courage and she appears to be a very worthy recipient of the award.

Cheers, big ears ...

Thank you for clarifying your opinion of my opinion. I guess we will both just have to live with our differing opinions on this issue.
Oh, and if I remember correctly, the appropriate response to the last line is....."up your nose with a rubber hose" ;)
