I'm only a baby from the waist down....

Anyway, train if you want to be fit, don't train if you don't want to. Being fit shouldn't have to wait until footy season starts you know !!

I don't disagree with your sentiment regarding fitness Choccies. The bulk of our "serious" players have summer pursuits, eg cricket, water polo, life saving, baseball as an outlet toward maintaining a fitness level. By all means..... train or don't train with Sherrin pre Christmas ..... that's not what my original response to Demons post was about. Ok..

Hope Valley are having a "Meet the Coaches Day" tomorrow at Hope Valley Oval from 1pm.

All current players, new players and potential new players are invited to attend and enjoy a BBQ and some beers.

Come and check out the new coach's terrible contribution to "Movember" ;)

Why is it short sighted ????

I'd say a statement like - "Training before christmas is an absolute waste of time imo; probably detrimental." is probably more short-sighted, moronic in fact.

I'd say it is the opposite of short sighted as it considers the season as a whole.

Maybe your umpire should start learning the rules before Xmas jetters.... Not short sighted, just common sense

Even from you thats a stretch to bring out an umpire call from that line of discussion.... though it should be apparent that umpiring made no difference. You guys were just rubbish.

Common sense? I'm don't think Goodwood Saints ever really had formal pre-Xmas training throughout their 5 on the trot; maybe someone should have let them know they were doing it wrong.

Do you even read what people post???? I reckon people understand the benefits of both points of the discussion!!! Going by your logic afl, sanfl and around 85% saafl clubs are doing it wrong!!! It's whatever works for the individual club!!! Now piss off to the d3 forum and annoy them!

Yes more does not equal better.
Just as practice does not make perfect. Perfect practice makes perfect
If the work you do before x-mas is aimless and does not fit into a bigger scheme and structured/periodized progression it can be a waste of time. But good coaches and good fitness staff manage people, emotion and time well.

Statements like that just prove that because you have a large skull, there's not necessarily a large brain in there either.... I think most of us agree that if post Christmas training is not targeted then it is useless.

i think it is a postive outlook i expect to see the midfielders or possible midfielders out running over next few weeks ......we are looking to have a big season and our running game will improve 100 percent if we push early we wanna hit the ground running round 1

first night had 12-14 few came down spoke to the coach had a few sessions at the beach also looks as if gaza made a play for one of our players who could blame them really gun footballer

and i see people posting about when to run or when not to run everyone has a different opinion and i guess it depends on the age of the player and how they go with injuries as to when they should start preseason trainning or just general running..personally i think it is better to have runs under your belt

Steveo was never any really good at Movember. Would have to start in Motember or earlier to be competitive with the rest of us

Let that be a lesson to you Sturt. You don't beat Glenelg 3 times in a row in Grand Finals and get away with it.
