Gotta laugh at some of the comments on here!

Looking forward to November 19th when the AFL meets and reports that no real offenses have been committed and a hefty fine is given to the crows for stupidity and not divulging all player payments etc.

Then we can start a thread up about how much over reaction there has been surrounding this! ;)

Salary cap infringements and draft tampering are serious offences.

1. Nothing proven - no problem for Crows or Tippett.
2. Proven misconduct re payments - Crows fined with part suspended and possible draft pick losses - Tippet reprimanded and/or fined.
3. Add in draft tampering proven - bigger fine for Crows and Tippett suspended.

The rest looks like jealous Power fans' (or other unsuccessful team's supporters') wild erotic fantasies!

Let's wait and see...
Possible ???
Yeah everyone else has no idea.
Crows fans have a track record of being open minded/unbiased in their opinion!!!
Read carefully - I said "Possible outcomes?".
I didn't say it was possible the Crows had done nothing - they have admitted what they did.

It has yet to be established by the AFL whether what they did constitutes a breach of the rules and if so how serious.
If it is a established by the enquiry to be a serious breach of the rules - then the options I proposed may apply.
I did say "The rest looks like jealous Power fans' (or other unsuccessful team's supporters') wild erotic fantasies!"

No you said
2. Proven misconduct re payments - Crows fined with part suspended and possible draft pick losses - Tippet reprimanded and/or fined.

As in if the crows are caught cheating it's possible they will lose draft picks. If they are caught cheating They will 100% lose draft picks its just a matter of how many.

Explain the draft tampering.
What have the crows done to tamper with the draft?

I don't get what you are on about. :?
I put that up as one of the "possible outcomes".

I really doubt there is anything serious enough involved in what has been revealed so far to warrant loss of draft picks.
If the AFL were to find evidence, in the books they are examining now, of more widespread and systematic salary cap rorting than the Crows have already revealed, it may become a different story, but based on what we know so far it seems it can only be the "wild fantasies" to which I referred...

Crows in trouble - CHEATS

The AFL have the email between Reid and Tippetts manager about the extra payment. Nothing to do with anyone's wildest fantasy at all, and yes that's enough to lose picks and be very heavily fined.

Yes the Crows gave them that, and we'll find out in due time how serious a one off incident like that is regarded as, by the AFL.

As I said, I agree that systematic and multiple rorting if discovered and proven would warrant the outcome you Portites would like to see for this apparently one off thing, but I think you are allowing the old jealousy for not getting the first licence to shape your expectations and that's where the "wild fantasies" come in...

That is, I'm not staying it is fantasy that anything wrong was done - the fantasy is about the extent of it and the consequences you desire.

Most posting on this page/thread are not "Portites", Psyber.

As a PA supporter myself, I do not think the Crows will be hit with penalties in the same range as what Carlton were hit with.

I agree, GWW, that there are reasonable and balanced PA supporters like you and Booney on this site.
It was a couple of, consistently one-eyed, others I was responding to - I apologise for over-generalising, carelessly.

I could be described as a "semi" PA supporter myself.
While I doubt I could bring myself to barrack for the "Maggies" in the SANFL, I usually support the Power against Melbourne based teams.
While I think granting the second AFL licence to PA was a mistake, they are still an SA based team, and that is enough for me.

Crows in trouble - CHEATS

Postby Hondo » Tue Nov 06, 2012 7:45 pm

Some of us are just trying to keep some perspective on the penalty predictions. The media are serving up worst case scenarios in the headlines and putting the likely scenarios in the fine print.

IIRC Collingwood got a $20k fine back in August for failing to lodge some player payments paperwork on time. I think they were to do with 3rd party deals too.

Lose $kurt for nothing, lose our other draft picks thus year and a hefty fine still seems the consensus.

I bet Noble and the lads are scouring the SANFL, WAFL and VFL for mature aged recruits.

I reckon it would be a good idea if all the crow supporters who don't like an unbiased opinion had a place to post where they could all agree with each other.

3rd time I've asked this. Has Tippett been paid the "Parting gift" yet? He is still on the Crows list isn't he? Did the Crows come to the AFL in spite of Tippett knowing they can block their rebel agreement?
