Amazing they can be political leaders, and the electorate has no idea what they really stand for.

I still think it is a bit premature, but I guess compromises were made to reconcile differences at the recent meeting.

We are all still waiting for the shadow health minister announcement.
If we wait for things to cool off perhaps MHS can be offered the portfolio back and will accept it...

Fox has already struck extra trouble courtesy of the Lib pre-selections. David Speirs will give her a huge run for her money. Deputy Mayor at Marion Council; very popular and a mammoth community worker and volunteer. He will get a big youth vote too.

I stunned no one is talking about Weatherill's dramas this past week.

It is unfathomable that he was unaware, or not made aware, of the situation at the OHSC in Dec 2010.

I also wonder whether Portolesi was leaked against, or lined up, by some "friendly" fire within Cabinet. I'm referring here to the decision by Police to release a statement contradicting Portolesi. Not unprecedented for them to preserve their independence from politics on operational matters, but they might have had some Ministerial encouragement too from their own Minister. Or am I just far too cynical to think that the blue between Michael Atkinson, (Min for Police Rankine's current partner) and Portolesi wouldn't have stretched THIS far...

Hence why I said that Portolesi needs to improve or face being dumped at the next election - her constant blaming of everyone else but herself when some crisis occurs is getting very thin to say the least.

One good thing that Weatherill has done is that he formally apologized today to all the parents from the school, something that Portolesi should have done the moment this story broke.

This whole thing is an absolute disgrace both for the school involved and the Education Department that are supposed to be running it. People have every right to be angry over it as we have been well and truly failed by both them and the government. If this had happened at a Private OSH, reporting it to parents would be mandatory and it should be here also - and will be now when Family First have that bill passed to make it so.

Just heard a clip on the radio

Weatherill said he didn't think his Chief did the wrong thing by not telling him
Obviously doesn't think it was important enough that a teacher raped an 8yo on his watch.
Too busy plotting his rise to glory.
Here's a conspiracy theory for you: Portolesi didn't apologise so Weatherill could and seem like the caring Premier, notwithstanding the fact, he was in charge at the time and IS responsible for this mess.

Steven Griffiths has been reappointed a shadow ministry, along with Peter Treloar.

They replace MHS and Mark Goldsworthy

A SENIOR journalist has been banned from parliament house after an alleged incident involving the Education Minister’s chief of staff.

In a rare occurrence, Michael Owen, local bureau chief for The Australian, had his media access pass revoked this week by Speaker Lyn Breuer for the remainder of the parliamentary year.

It follows a complaint to the Speaker by Jadynne Harvey, chief of staff to Education Minister Grace Portolesi, after Owen had put questions to Harvey in a Parliament House office.

The Speaker then sent a letter to Owen in which, Indaily understands, allegations were made regarding intimidation.

It is understood The Australian’s Sydney office rejected the allegations after listening to a recording of the interview.

Owen had interviewed Harvey on Tuesday when he attended Portolesi’s parliamentary office.

Wasn't there some state Lib accused or alleged to have been involved with disabled minors, Unley type MP or something? It was a while ago but I think he was hounded by his own party to quit and briefly became an independent and then quit. Can't remember his name or the details for the life of me though.

Mark Brindal. The man he was involved with was 24 at the time.

now we've cleared up the fact the Liberals are peadophile-free, can we do the same for Labor?

On a completely unrelated subject, with my comment not to be mis-construed that is indeed linked to anything topic previously mentioned, has that fat-arse Finnigan still got his snout in the trough? :@

It's gonna be ugly, so the timing on the cusp of xmas is absolutely no surprise.
