I've been out a few times with a guy named "Boat" - you will find him in the Tavern most nights - Was either Fleurieu Charters or Time Out Charters - great bloke, and everytime we have been out we have bagged on Snapper - and then either got stuck into the whiting, or trolling lures for Salmon - took a few non fishing mates from footy a few years ago and they loved it - they still talk about the trolling for Salmon - even though it was only 2 of the group of 8 fishing at once, it was awesome fun - I think we got about 80!

Have been out chasing Callop on lures the last couple of Sundays - last week was the middle of the day and I wasn't too confident but the old man got one just over legal size.

Went out at dusk last night with very high expectations, but only one undersize to my old man again - was a bit disappointed as the conditions seemed perfect! Oh well, there is always next time. Lucky its a max 15 mins from home to my favourite spots.

Why is it your favourite spot if you never catch anything?

In past years we have caught up to 15 Callop in a couple of hours... It doesn't normally fire up until around Xmas.

It had slowed right back squids.... To a level that is really not very noticeable either way.

Apparently the Coorong is getting saltier by the week - will have to get down there before Xmas I reckon to have a fish.

went out sat morning on mates boat at moonta.
Weather was good early but wind started to pick up around 11.
We only got a few whiting and squid, along with some undersize whiting we threw back.
Couldnt believe how many puffer fish we caught, would have been in excess of 50, plus probs about 20 odd trumpeters, few tommies and a spanish mackrel.
Was planning on going on a crab sunday but the wind was a bit strong so gave it a miss

My old man has bagged out on snook 3 days in the last week off Vincent.

Plenty of snapper bait for him then :D :D Must admit they're bloody tasty if you smoke them up.

PS what does one do with 60 snook??
