So a then 21 year old wanting to go home because is is only on the base contract from when he first joined the AFL and he knows a new club is going to start up in his back yard with a larger salary cap is going to say, nup I'm staying Adelaide without knowing the details of what Adelaide is offering him??? Especially after these guys (AFL players) have it drilled into them about the industry what they can and can not do as part of their induction programs.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Age is (or should be) irrelevant, no different to when a player takes the field.

Has anyone thought about what if, the Crows had spent say $30k on Joel Tippett, but included that space in their TPP, is there still a cap issue?

Unfortunately for Crows fans, it doesnt sound as though this stuff on the side was included.

Still can't see how they can get out of this without punishment, it's just a matter of how much they'll be up for!!

It sounds like Sanderson knocked back the Jesse White deal. I wonder if that was a good move?

His manager would of advised him to sign the contract due to they had worked out a gentlemans agreement re : moving in 2012.

His manager and club are guilty of forging a players contract and non-disclosure to

Talk now of a $200k under the table payment that the crows told tippetts management that "the AFL don't need to know about"

Rubbish, Tippett signed the contract so he is as liable as the rest. All parties involved should recieve sanctions if found guilty. It kills me even more to know he was our top paid player already and we had to offer him more money outside of that to keep him here! This would have been in Tippett and his managements terms, the Crows would not have said here is say $800K oh and because your that good we will give you $200K more! I am over hearing how he is innocent in all of this, there is no way he signed the contract only on the say so of his manager, if he did then he is more of an idiot than I thought.

For such a good season for the Crows on the field there has been some massive issues off that I hope wont derail any more progress on 2013, unfortunately someone has to be made accountable.

Crows not allowed to trade Tippett, apparently.
Forced into the draft.

So GWS gold Coast or Brisbane will select him for sure. Some how I think Sydney might have lost interest.

He should probably deduct $200k off of what he was going to request, since its already been pre-paid by the Crows

Emma Quayle claims that the Crows would have had room in their cap for the $200K but that's not the issue.

The issue being that it was promised or "guaranteed" to be paid with the condition that the AFL not be informed.

She claims the club (Reid) promised a string of 3rd party deals adding up to $200K with the Crows covering any shortfall.

It's not clear from her article how much of the $200K was paid, if any. Probably not clear to anyone right now.

So the email was between John Reid and Kurt tippett ?????

I think every crows player with these extra clauses should be banned.

Check dangers and Tex last two contracts afl. I think they will make interesting reading.
