Hip-Hop/Rap
In answer to the the question Mick, I'm 29 and I do like some of it but like all music there is some that I think is very ordinary.
For one example, I loved the song "Crossroads" by Bone, Thugs and Harmony from 1996 and went out and bought the album, which I didn't like.
Like(d) Tupac Shakur, Ice Cube, Warren G and liked the little known album by 213 (Snoop Dogg, Warren G and Nate Dogg) that was released last year. As far as "Black" music goes though, I am more of a fan of R&B.
Mick, you say you like Jazz, do you like music by the late Donny Hathaway and George Benson?
oh yea, Snoop Dog, Warren G and Nate Dog how could I forget them... on of my favourite tunes.... Warren G ... REGULATOR....

Not thinking of Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five? Sometimes, the song is mistakenly attributed to Melle Mel, who does most of rapping on the song.

'White Lines,' an anti-drugs song, was one of their biggest hits.

To counter that there was 'Crack it Up' by Funkmaster Wizard Wiz - one of the very few PRO-crack songs ever recorded.
