All it does is increase the chance of mental and physical fatigue.
agree wholeheartedly! clubs usually have two weeks off over xmas when that happens anyway where, unless blokes are supremely comitted, drink and eat way to much and dont touch the running shoes. we've started early januray the last two years with a BBQ b4 xmas and that has worked really really well as we've had solid numbers from the word go.
im surprised to see you pop your head up on here watchy, thought the missus would have you neck deep in wedding plans?
how many finals did u play in last year if it worked realy realy well for you?
Considering CLG are in a re-build, for their A grade to just miss the finals and their B grade to make the GF in 2012- with the planned introduction of a c grade side in 2013 .....id say thinks are working very well for the lions in terms of numbers on the track (which is what BFG referred to in his post!)
Im sure Zwecky and the A grade squad will consider finals an absolute must next season. CC- Maybe consider that general progression and growth within a club is sometimes better than flying through the grades and falling twice as fast...something that woodville south have experience in doing.

Absolutely correct. If you don't have a solid foundation of blokes throughout your club falling through the divs is a real possibility.
Need a number of committed players across both grades and across different ages. If you rely on too many mercenaries or blokes of a certain age, when they leave/retire it can rip the heart out of the team. Trust me Kilburn knows about this.
Setting the foundation for going up can actually be more important than fluking a few finals wins.

b) Its a forum- you had a crack at BFG as apparently winning and losing is the be all and end all of amateur league, i simply offered a different point of view.

I can confirm as of 2pm today no one had matched the $1000 / game Mr Bourke is rumoured to be on. Hence he is set to stay a Ram for 2013. No coach appointed as yet but I would say by end of next week they will have one confirmed.

Heard on the grapevine that the Rams interviewed both Shayne Mitchell & Josh Coulter.
