PAOC vs Marion: Not too difficult this one. Prince Alfred has been strong for some time, and like I have said earlier, Marion were lucky last season. Princes at a canter.

Pembroke vs Goodwood: With the loss of Martin being a big one to cover, Goodwood will take time to find their feet, however I expect them to account for Pembroke easily.

Payneham vs Grange: Toughest of the round, and would definitely be an interesting one to watch while digesting a cheese and vegemite roll. Grange in a tight one.

Pultney vs Brighton: Brighton have too much talent across the board. This may be the first outright of the season.

Woodville Rech. vs AHOS: With the money it takes to get Woody Rech on the park each Saturday, it will be an expensive loss. Duffett once again will carry this team on his broad, stocky shoulders. Woodville Rech to win.

So there it is, basically comes down to which team wants more coin in that particular week, big phone bill, better make some runs.

And it looks like there is a man city in a3 also, buying that flag (20k, how farsicle) sure to be supporting whoever is playing hope valley.

There once was a bloke named Fracka,
Scored runs since he was a young tacka,
But alas not anymore,
his shot selection's been poor,
and now they call him QUACKA!!

I would be unhappy to if I was him everyone wants to contribute as much as they can, In fact I'm unhappy with my batting position too, but in reality there is no one above me that doesnt deserve to be there. He will get over it like I have, we realise that we have to make sacrifices in order to try and win a premiership. Nothing wrong with showing a bit of disappointment. Just have to see how he goes as the season progresses. Still a happy family :)

You don't sound too confident that he will get over it. I'm assuming if he reacted that way, he wasn't previously aware where he would be batting. Surely the captain would have made everyone aware of their batting positions and roles well before the first day of play!! Communication problem?? With egos, money and reputations flying around POOraka at the moment, it won't take long for someone to get upset. Or have they already??

Interesting to note that Concordia batted on after passing the Kilburn score in the LODs on the weekend, breaching the relevant bylaws.

I'm sure it had nothing to do with the fact the Concordia captain had only just come to the crease. ;)
Given he played LOD all last season (as well as the two seasons previous to that), I'm sure he would have been aware that the game was over once they passed the Kilburn score.

which our captain, who was unaware of the exact rule as it was his first game ever in charge, had no idea and assumed there captain was right, agreeing to play on to give our guys a hit, but I also guess the result will have to be changed to when they passed the score ?

Yeah, understandable NR28. You generally see it in a game or two at the start of each season. It's normally just two skippers that are unaware, as opposed to one who clearly knows the rules and tries to take advantage of the other. (The only other explanation would be if it is entered in my cricket incorrectly and Concordia did happen to bat first, but given your response, it doesn't appear to be the case).

Kilburn should request the score to be modified. Concordia scored 3/116 after the game was over, in comparison to the 6/78 before. It will improve Kilburn's ratio if the additional play is removed.

in this case the skipper didn't know the rule. but also, agreed to go on to see what a few of the lads could produce in some short spells.

in hindsight with the final score in mind this was a poor decision. i believe kilburn will be requesting to have the extra play erased from the records. interesting to see what decision will be made...

will take a interest in the batting line up on My Cricket.
See Dan Turner at Fab Baker Boys this morning. Very happy with the look of the side and how the place is being run from the top. I enquired about the budget , he reckons its not as big as people are lead to believe. Hows Cubbys body holding up and do the local born and bred players get any coin.

Hardly a dollar being spent!!

Cubby holding up very well, only bowling short spells but smashed them on the weekend, still bowling well. Strangio don't get cleared by his doctor... So no good for this year.

I reckon it is because the main contributors to the forum from Ingle Farm are all now " Old retired Bastards"...
We could always contribute in the way your good self does Merki, or your mate #Hashtag, as I must say it is very amusing, but I think we will leave that to you guys.. ;)

Just because you now are "old retired bastards", doesn't mean you go into hiding. A man of your stature and with your experience should still have some pearls of wisdom to pass on!!

P.S. Will it be an interesting fixture when Ingle Farm meet Para Hills this season??

We are not hiding, well im not, still a big involvement with the off field stuff. probably would prefer to play then to do all the running around, sacrifices we make.Going to be a tough comp, with the new structuring of sides you must get off to a flyer. Think the teams that prepared the best preseason will be amongst it in the end.

Not a fan on the 9 Games 18 weeks. Our B-grade got called off last Friday Morning ( Thats a joke in its self) that will now be 17 weeks of cricket , probably with 2 or 3 more weeks to miss. Cost clubs alot of revenue.
