And yet apparently we don't have too many grade clubs FS

This has nothing to do with to many clubs DOOL, it comes down to poor management by the club and them basically saying its to hard..... time to get rid of them!

1 hours work and you can have a stack of community club cricketer wanting to come and play grade cricket at any junior age..... why cant they? I have heard that Pt Districts cricket club haven’t had any contact from Port regarding some of their juniors heading out to play for port.

Them not being able to field all their junior sides is a disgrace to the competition

And its a joke that 15 junior teams were pulled from the turf comp in the 2 weeks before the start of the season I guess too..

Kids don't want to play cricket anymore.

Having an 'A' & 'B' grade in junior sport is just wrong.

Not having the 2 grades and having 2 years age difference means many a good cricketer would be lost.

Its not hard to fill 4 sides, you have to do an hour or so work to recruit a few kids..... Port obviously havent

SA batting this morning and just like the first XI last week bowl in ideal batting conditions, now must knuckle down to chase 362.

With a couple of players from last week need a score and others need to force their way into the first team.

Im certainly not anti port, their work to come back from where they were has to be commended.... however they are dropping ball in certain areas and then in the most important area... Junior development

My comments are certainly competition wide and most certainly focused on junior development. 2 sides in each grade is a must

Removing the whites should allow both junior teams to play on turf every week..

Run a squad of 15-20 and make players earn selection in a grade competition rather than handing them a game in the whites. Build stronger relationships with community clubs with in each zone, go watch a game or 2 on a Sunday to help identify any hidden talent or squad players not selected.

Run the u/13 for a full season instead of a handful of games...

Just a few of the things I think would improve the standard of what should be an elite junior competition.

Any idea why the futures league isn't included in the CA app?

It all sounds good in theory mate, and in a perfect world with perfect kids, perfect parents, perfect community clubs and perfect grade clubs it would work. But in practicality it isnt that simple and there are many other issues that come into play. So having the 4 sides is a necessity.

Selection should be a competetive process in all grades, clubs should also have a competative process to be part of the 'squads' in the first place. Parents shouldnt be coaches and clubs need to do the right thing, not just grab the kids who are 100% naturally talented and gift them games throughout their Jnr years without learning anything. With a bit of work you never know what a kid can/will develop into.

Thats it for me on this, back on the Futures league

I know. Is the Women's league on the app?

Maybe they deemed it unnecessary?
