but they won't be your players if they get drafted. The Crows will have a reserves side by 2014, The Power too probably, so you won't see your drafted players anymore.

If they did this then no one would go and watch SANFL games anymore because it would be a meaningless comp. All the SANFL comps would then go broke and the crows reserves would have no one to play. The WAFL are not allowing the WA AFL clubs to take over their comp so the SANFL shouldn't allow it either. They just need to grow some balls and stand up for themselves. They need to stop being intimidated by twerps like rucci.

Perhaps they could just play each other every week!

So we have players not good enough to make the League teams of Glenelg, North, Port etc. but playing for the Crows/Port reserves they are suddenly good enough to play SANFL ?
The Crows and Port are AFL teams let their reserves play in the AFL reserves comp if the really need a reserves side. Don't xxck up our competion ! That is part of the agenda never fear .... Dimitreou wants the SANFL squashed and reduced to a shit comp rather than the second best comp producing drafteees by the truck load.
Where the hell do you think your draft picks will come from now ???

I've never subscribed to the theory that AD's sole intention is to decimate the other leagues, I think it's more just a bi-product of the AFL wanting to further elite their clubs and competition in the least expensive manner.

Otherwise they would just extend the clubs' list numbers, and run an AFL reserves competition, but between the additional travel costs, player salaries, assistant coaches and medico's that would be required, it would send a lot of the clubs to the wall.

Hence their "want the cake and eat it too" approach, that will have a detrimental effect on all competitions down the line.

not a bad idea! after all, the sides aren't there to win flags, they will be created so as to keep all the players together & so they can trial players in different positions & gain match fitness.

Boy our you naive. Previous VFL commisioners have reduced the SANFL to a shell of a comp thats it once was and Demetriou would want nothing more to drive the final nail into the coffin. The reasons they don't extend the lists is because the clubs can't afford it.

All people that support the expanded VFL are doing their part to destroy South Australian football

I doubt Sturt members would ever vote for a take over.

I doubt the eight clubs would allow the SAFC to let it happen.

I would certainly never attend my SANFL club again if the went along with this stupid idea. It has ruined the old VFA.... as the supporter of any aligned club. As the former VFL players that come over here because they were squeezed out..... example is Luke Jarred struggled to get a game at AFL aligned Williamstown but is a dual premiership player in SA.

anyway imagine our two most famous clubs being nothing but feeder teams for AFL clubs.

Word is in WA East Perth & Peel are about to betray the other clubs and become feeder teams.

Get the AFL listed players out of our league now!!!!!

Im not sure I should bother, but anyway .. The VFL Commissioners reduced our comp by trying to salvage, then flourish their own - As I said, the effect to our comp is the bi-product!

LOL, where have I heard that before? :-k Oh that's right, I posted it!!

It's one thing to be passionate, everyone is toward their club and competition but don't be blind about it

I agree JK it is just a bi-product of them trying to build there own comp stronger.

But IMHO I don't think the AFL head office would be to distraught if a bi product was the sanfl became an under23 feeder comp either

Not once we sell the licences. We sell the licences what crows and power wants becomes irrelevant to us.

Im Very surprised booney Is advocating sanfl should have to cop it again.

The SANFL have recently made it very clear that no AFL reserve side will play in the League competition. I'm happy enough with that.

By the way - I wasn't aware that Sturt was up for sale or further more, that an SANFL club could be purchased lock, stock and barrel!

Neither would I because there would be no point. It would no longer be a legit competition. And since I have no interest in the AFL i guess that would be the end of my interest in Australian Football. I will just watch my American sports teams.

They won't get in the SANFL league comp mate, it's not going to float that one because there is nothing in that for the SANFL clubs, certainly no money which is the only possible reason to sell our soul/history down the crapper!
Half the AFL clubs are on some sort of prop up scheme from AFL house anyhow.
When the Power get back to 30k plus crowds again, then your talking being able to create "ideal" enviroments for player development, until then it's
