I could blow wind up your arse if you want me to, I don't mind being proven wrong, I hope you guys do, I love the Billiegoats. All bullshit aside, your squad doesn't appear to be any stronger than last season going on your first match list, your team lacks commitment in the way there's always weddings, concerts and other stuff that see's players missing matches aswell. The Goats can be dangerous, they just don't put it together on the same day often enough.
I hope you guys do well but it's going to be a tough ride.

Salisbury West: Say no more.
Rose & Crown: Look stronger than last season which saw them play off in the GF.
Angle Vale: Missing Andy Carman atm, will probably end up playing come December, still strong.
Central United: Pushed the better sides last season, look stronger this season.
Virginia: Always come home with a wet sail, always poo early.
Craigmore: A stellar Grade 2 season last year, they have youth and experience and a talented list.
ATCO: I just think they'll struggle with the jump because the standard has lifted.

I have no reason to ridicule you, it's an honest evaluation of what I've seen over the past.

  Look stronger?!? 3 changes from last years grand final side, and of the inclusions into the side on the weekend, 1 played B grade last year, 1 played D grade and the other is Keylock from Smithfield... All 3 players failed to trouble the scorers and were all clean bowled..

Explain how we look stronger?? :?

Stama in from the start, wasn't sure on Millard, didn't investigate, I didn't think you've lost anyone and gained a couple.
Is BJ playing? Chuck him and Clayton in there and there's going to be 300+ scores throughout the season.

BJ will be back from this week - he is the captain this season.
Clayton isn't playing this year, and neither is Broadstock.

This season will be a lot closer than many expect I think.

Best fielding side by a long way, increased batting depth to support Fenwick, and a handy bowling line up. With a year of experience under the belt should go very well.. T20 last year showed what the units are capable of..

Rumor has it Seccafien wont be bowling this season? Just not sure they will have the bowling attack to really test teams this year, started poorly last season before Secca came back and led their bowling with around 30 wickets(?)

Guess time will tell though...

Managed to play footy all season, albeit in the B's though. Can never tell with Virginia, they have experience and always end up with someone else joining them.

A lot of young fella's say that in October. I agree, the gap is closing, it was last season apart from Westies and Gardens. Even by suggesting the Goats will finish 7th doesn't mean I think they're rubbish. Should be in the top 4 come Sunday and should be able to post a dozen points at least which is about an eighth of what you need for finals.

Yeah hoping he changes his mind, but i've heard he wants to work hard on footy and go back to a league club next season. Also apparently his Mrs isnt a fan of cricket

Good luck to all teams involved for today and the coming season 8)

days like this i hate that im no good with the bat in perfect batting conditions... this only makes it harder!. but on days like this when the coin lands the other way up, pretty happy to be a bowler with this wind over my shoulder, certainly doesnt do any harm!

Only one side batted out the day. Glad I didn't put odds up, would've been up for a heap of cyber coin already.
I should've known Virginia don't start season's well, would've been good to know that the Units had their footy presentation on Friday night.

Lucky it was perfect batting conditions or teams couldve been knocked over for double figures......

well it turned out to be real nice battin conditions. early in the day it was plenty over cast with a stiff breeze. n thats what i was gettin at, on a perfect batting day i struggle, so on a day like it was lookin to turn out things would be very hard for me. but even though the sun came out, n the wind dropped a bit i still showed how classy i am with the bat... 0! lol but yeh surpising only one side batted out the day, obviously a few sides still shaking out the pre season rust

Teams would struggle to bat out 70 overs more often then not I would've thought..

heres a question for everyone, what are peoples thoughts on the quality of cricket thats gets played in the para districts

i remember as a kid watching my brother play Div 1 and the quality was amazing people like waterhouse, petrus, sibbs (at full flight) Ozlins (still a gun) etc
and even my first year i played div 1 having the play against fracka, ratters, mclean, robbo, rocco, pete thomas etc was crazy.

but 2 years ago when i finished i personally thought it was a bunch of hacks (with the exception of a handful) who were there to argue and even fight (happened 1 or 2 games)

whats other peoples thoughts..

Div 2 and down i believe last season was quite ordinary at best. Div 2 had some talented youngsters who will be playing Div 1 this season (Craigmore) which will only help their development. Div 1 last season i cant comment on as i didnt see any games.

Went and watched some PDCA Div 1 last season as well and didnt think the quality in some games was of the highest order either.

I tihnk the standard is dropping everywhere not just PDCA. I can't comment on PDCA back in the day, but I think currently most Div 1 sides have maybe one or two very good players and then a handful of players who are average, the depth just isn't that great, and that is evident in most sides change bowlers.
