Yup, still pink.

D29 part 4
4. Balls
The approved ball is the Kookaburra Pink (4 piece). Clubs are to provide their own.

Yup, big difference for us.
Umpires are taking a massive wack out of our budget with 5 teams now paying umpires, up from 3 last year, plus the fact they cost 20% more as well means our umpiring bill has almost doubled.
Cricket balls are up and with more short forms of the game meaning more new balls are required.
Also a number of our sponsors are saying no or downsizing their commitment due to current economic conditions.

I was speaking with some high ranking club officials last night and it looks like we are going to post a significant loss this year.
At this rate our end of season dinner is going to be a couple of dominos pizzas and a weak mix of home brand cordial.

Costs are a big issue for all clubs, but I suppose if the players want to play then the players have to pay. I think you could opt out of the 20-20 competition.

Was anyone affected by the overnight rain?

I dont want to catch the buses to my selected game to find out it had earlier been called off, it has been known!

What do we think is the most mouth watering encounter today?

I have to admit tho, Pink balls on a saturday, is just utter rubbish, next thing you will say is that clubs have been allowed to wear their own pajamas to play in.

I definately wont be able to get two games in today with the shortend format, on the plus side I wont have to pack a second cheese and Vegimite sandwich.

Will clubs be having teas? I hope I will be invited in to sample some if so.

The bloody overnight rain and again in the morning made for tough batting conditions at Reynella in the first match.
We batted first and made 120 ish...then bowled PAC out in just 9 overs...for 17.
Different story in the second game. I got to roll the divets flat for 10 minutes during the interval.Old Scotch batted first and made 111,then our blokes chased it down without losing a wicket.

Thought I would give everyone a brief review of the game that I attended at the weekend, I hope that my predictions of mouth-watering matches improves because this one was like watching Wladimir Klitschko pound down on Bradley the latest big brother evictee. But none the less, cricket season in upon us.

I went to view Pooraka vs Modbury, this was in no way attached to a previous post to do with Poorakas strength, but sadly, I can only compare poorakas bite to being corresed with a natural yogurt, in comparison to their V8 bark.

The worst player of the game would be Mr Christophers, it seemed to me that his mannerisms suited a coaching role, and to get out in the manner that he did was not from that ilk, he must impose a “do as I say not as I do mantra”. I am assuming that a coach gets paid, lets go with $200 dollars a game, that’s $40s a run, it would have made economic sense to have paid sundries, better value for money.

The player of the game would be Mr Virgens , although he lacked penetration, his willingness to keep putting his balls in the right place will undoubtedly earn due rewards in the coming fixtures. And going for just 3 an over in a 20-20 game is excellent, with a maiden, (one could only assume a virgen too?)

Very interesting, surprised to see he even played.
I heard he hadn't been cleared from his previous club yet.

So Heargraves is playing at Trinity. Why did he leave Brahma?? Maybe being overlooked after leading the club to an A grade premiership could have something to do with it. Either way he will struggle on turf.
There once was a bloke named Fracka,
Scored runs since he was a young tacka,
But alas not anymore,
his shot selection's been poor,
and now they call him QUACKA!!

Where are you guys getting your $$$ from?? He wouldn't be cheap. As soon as the money runs out, two thirds of the A grade will leave, definitely!! Put your money into something that ensures long term success not a couple of money hungry blokes for one season!!

We will be together for years. The friendships in that team are ones that date back years, people like Neve have come in and fit right in, Jye was part of the T20 team last year and already gets along well with everyone. We will be fine in the coming years.

Your still not getting my point that the main reason most of the players are there is because of the $$$. Some of them may have been mates for years and others are fitting in well, but when the money dries up, none of them will be wearing POOraka hats!!
