make the price the same as they are all year & give away as many tickets as possible, what's wrong with a crowd of 40,000 to 50,000, even if half get in for free? It promotes the game, creates a great atmosphere & the food & drink sales will go through the roof!

save money, get rid of the entertainment, do you think thousands of kids care for a live band?

Yes to Friday night prelim. Reckon that might draw a few neutrals too. I reckon I'd head to a Friday night final as a neutral.

Friday Night prelim on AFL Grand Final Eve especially at Adelaide Oval, has quite some merit for mine as it would be the first Friday Night since March with no AFL on the television so it has exclusive status.

Only two issues

1) Its a 5 day break from Semi Final Sunday but at least its fair, it is a 5 day break for BOTH sides.

2) ABC TV coverage. They would want the game on Sunday.

Whoever wins the prelim would get an extra 44 hours rest for the Grand Final than current situation.

For balance I'm not sure about other years but this year's Prelim drew 52k audience average.

Is the Prelim coverage something that the internet could handle for that one Friday night if it means getting the Grand Final to the following Saturday / evening?

For that prelim, how about highlights on the Sunday afternoon, mixed with a panel discussion reviewing the season and previewing the GF.

Given how difficult it seems to have been dealing with the ABC over the last couple of years, can you imagine them chopping and changing from Sundays to a Friday prime-time spot just for one week? Although it would be a great promotion for the league.

If it aint broke... dont fix it.

Leave it as is . we are still getting 30000 to 40000.

Cant complain about those figures . If crowmania or port were playing in a prelim,
numbers and exposure for our GF would be down significantly.

LEAVE IT ALONE....

i agree to a certain extent...but it could be even bigger

LEAVE IT the week after afl grand final

but have it on saturday or saturday night

IMO would even increase the crowd more interest in the whole thing and people back at premiers oval

The risk of Saturday is an AFL GF replay completely destroying the event.

30 000 there at the GF and they were all Norwood supporters. If Norwood were playing Port or Sturt you would get 40 000 plus. Keep it the way it is except play it on Saturday so I can party all night when norwood wins the flag and don't have to worry about work the next day. Also please play the club song after the game and especially doing the lap honor. Having the band play when I shuold have been hearing 'its a grand old flag' was the biggest dissapointment of the day for me.
