See the weather is as predictable as ever for the first game of the season!
With that... a slight deflection to the next topic!

might be a few low scores out there today.... some grounds being recently top-soiled will slow the outfields and the weather will help the ball get a bit of movement. First innings of the season could be short for a few top-order batsmen today. Good day to be a bowler imo..

Good luck to all teams involved for today and the coming season 8)

i would say Craigmore are too reliant on one or two players IMO. in div 2 you can get away with that a lot more than in div 1. the key players craigmore rely on wont be as stand out in a higher quality comp, probably dont have the depth in bowling.

I was suprised Atco actually made it into div 1. 2 years ago they were lucky to stay in div 2 as no side got relegated, and were saved from finishing bottom only because OTH Bs were well and truelly out of there depth in div 2.

Any reason you think OTH will be finishing bottom here? were there and there abouts last season with a weaker side IMO than they have this year. unless something goes terribly wrong i can see them really pushing finals with a few batsmen added to the list, and with the guidance of the new coach hopefully things will click for them.

days like this i hate that im no good with the bat in perfect batting conditions... this only makes it harder!. but on days like this when the coin lands the other way up, pretty happy to be a bowler with this wind over my shoulder, certainly doesnt do any harm!

Really only going on the when I played against them last year. Not familiar with any ins. Was tempted to wait until after week 1 to make any predictions. I think it will be close from fourth down.

ATCO 118 vs Craigmore 2/47
Virginia 139 vs Vale 0/113
Goats 250 vs Units 2/30
Grade 2
Rosies 131 vs Gardens 0/40
Sal. Nth 196 vs Vale 0/4
Parkers 276 vs Smitty 1/7
Westies 112 vs Riverside 4/116
Grade 3
Craigmore 127 vs ATCO 4/87
Pines 105 vs Goats 3/34

Teachers 205 vs Units 2/116
Grade 4
Vale 161 vs Units 3/55
Wells 163 vs Gardens 89
Westies 9/283 vs ATCO

Only one side batted out the day. Glad I didn't put odds up, would've been up for a heap of cyber coin already.
I should've known Virginia don't start season's well, would've been good to know that the Units had their footy presentation on Friday night.
