No wonder state cricket is screwed in SA.

No disrespect to Mark because from the many times i have played against him he seems like a top bloke but honestly playing grade cricket.

His a handy div3 bowler at best!!! and thats with the standard drop that sees div3 nearly having all b grade sides and close to having c grade sides.

Must be the left-handedness mate, I've seen him bowl in the right area's for the last few years, get's a bit of movement either way and yeah he's a great lad. I think he'll be an asset on turf, I have wondered over the years where he's at with his cricket though. Pretty handy with the willow too.

I wish him the best of luck. Definitely a loss to Angle Vale and i would have liked to see how he went in div 2 this year.

Apparently he bowled some good spells with a bit of zip, I didn't get to play any games with him and our nets face so you bowl into the breeze so I'm no accurate judge.
He sort of just played to fill in some time last season, great lad, we enjoyed his company.

To be fair, he has only trained out there so far, he hasn't played any games, who knows how he will go. Besides it's not like he will be playing A grade, most likely D grade I would imagine - maybe C grade, and the standard in those grades isn't exactly elite, it's normally kids and old blokes.

Good luck to him for giving it a crack at least and trying to better himself, who knows how he might develop with some help and direction - or he might discover it's out of his depth and return to Angle Vale.

Bit over the top with predictions CU will be the faves. No offense, but more added to their depth than top level talent. I'd be surprised if they didn't aim for finals but a semi berth is a pass for them IMHO.

Westies favourites. When the batting lineup looks like Sewell, Parkhouse, Lewendon, McIntyre, Davies with McInness sliding in near the end you're going to be strong. Davies and McInness with the ball make a grade 1 bowling attack to be feared. Then you think Wellington will bowl a fair bit too and no reason to think they won't repeat.

Rosies next best. No losses, no gains, no change to the threat they pose.

After that it's going to come down to blokes in form at the right time. Just about any of the rest could come 3rd or 8th if the wrong guys struggle or the right guys fire and it could come down to an innings between finals and relegation.

McKenzie: Davies. Best player in the comp by a mile. Nearly won it last year on one leg and should be in for a much better year with his knee fixed up. Might not get the bowling, but it will be tight and he will go for 1/2 the runs his competition will.

Sorry Graham, didn't think Parky was playing this year, yes Salis West will still be a force.

Rosies still have the same core players but have lost a couple of handy batsmen & quality fielders that's why I think we will fall back with the pack.

Units will be up there, their fielding alone should help them win games, the bowling is tidy without being super dangerous and by throwing in a couple of solid bats to hopefully support Fenwick I think they will go alright...

I guess we will get more of an idea around 6pm tonight!
