I think a lot of the Clubs in the Barossa actually enjoy having the bye . It gives them a bit of family time which I can understand, And also thay don't need any other side to improve their comp .

Yes sometimes bye can be handy but is also a pain if you cop it as either 1st round or more so 2nd round as then you play 1 game have a week off so hard to get season started . Also it is a pain when your club bye is scheduled either side of the association bye as then you do not play for 3 weeks which makes it hard to keep players motivated to train and you do lose out on "match conditioning " Travel should not be an issue with Barossa clubs as it is no further than when Riverton and Eudunda were in Barossa league before they moved and for the Gawler clubs no different to the trip to Two Wells or Virginia when they were part of Gawler League

Can the Barossa League over rule this vote by the clubs?

for what reasons did they vote against it?

Not sure of reasons but was 7-2 against.
As usual a lot of clubs with a lot of self interest fail to see the bigger picture

Or maybe there hasn't been a vote yet and Jim knows SFA

I was told there has been no vote by the clubs and not even sure if there will be. The Barossa League will either accept them or they won't.

No. Because the clubs are the League.
Older, wiser and been there. But still love that grassroots country footy.

Interesting to hear that Birdwood are about to announce a coach when I know one of the applicants has yet to be interviewed. He is expecting a time to be arranged after Birdwood meet tonight.

Have all clubs now confirmed their Coaches for 2013?
and are all the rumors of clubs moving leagues and/or being relegated to a Cgrade etc come to the front or are they still just rumors?

So Birdwood HAVE appointed a playing coach ( last night ). Would have thought the applicants that were waiting to be given interview times would have been given the chance. Pretty ordinary I think , could have more up front with them .
