Buddy kicks 3.4 and one out on the full yet he is still the media focus of a really good and well coached Hawthorn side. Buddy is the most over rated player going around. His delusions of adequacy probably cost the Hawks a premiership.

Urban legend.

Something disgruntled fans/media types desperate for a story latch onto.

Not the clubs or players.

You know, professionals...

Said on the presentation dias mate. Has been said during the year also.

With arguably the best squad in the comp, have the Hawks underachieved?
Probably should have more to show for their efforts. Can see some Melbourne media getting stuck into them

That was my first thought too. That run home before finals was a massive help too. 4 hard games versus some other teams having soft games.

I thought LRT was good... Goodes was good considering his knee was ****... It was a gutsy win by us and i couldnt be happier... we are the most underrated side going round.... Do people rate us now??!!! :D

Clarksons press conference is all class... i respect him soooo much...

Sky pilot - I agree with you about Buddy overated. Hang on, he was in the team of the year? When a team needs a key player in the biggest game of the year, Buddy did not produce. Shots at goal were kickable and were done by other players in the game. Yes he kicked a couple good ones, but the media promote him so much, they forget about how important the ones are that he misses. The ones he missed were important.

In the end, it was a good solid game and enjoyable to watch.
Well done to Clarkson. Represents the club in the highest manner. Gets frustrated at times and who wouldn't but with the media and no doubt on big stages, says it from the heart and a fantastic representative of the club

So that's makes it interstate 8 wins v Victorian 2 wins when playing against each other. Interesting stat. The two losses being 1996 and 2007.

Congratulations Sydney Swans an awesome performance today. Goodes the most insiprational Grand Final performance I can remember. The courage of Hannebury was absolutely huge. A team effort against a side that had too many not doing enough.

Yeah i posted that stat before play today.

Makes a mockery when you hear the media go on about teams like collingwood, hawthorn etc etc getting an advantage from playing at the MCG so much in the minor round.

Indeed it does it is the better team on the day plain and simple. The media will hype up sides like collingwood, Hawthorn, Essendon because they have the most members. It is a ego trip.

Ryan Okeefe has had one of the best finals series ever. 3 games and very close to best player in all three of them.
