Leon Cameron is a lock i reckon.

Just waiting till after this weekend with his Hawthorn commitments. Eade still a slight chance.

On Ratten i think it was both ways, He wanted to be promised the job and Port wanted him to impress them so dont think the interview went that well from all reports.

Yes you are probably right but is also still an outside chance that Carlton are trying to get a reduced rate for last year of contract they owe him and they will argue it should be less if he's head coach elsewhere.

I heard that Ratten is in line for a GC senior assistant role that will in turn eventually be the senior coach to replace McKenna in 2 - 3 years time. I mean if this was the case then you look at Port who will probably be ok-ish maybe by then with some good young players or the GC who will be start to be getting very good with all of there young talent. And really this would be handed to him.

Midfield coach at Gold Coast has been offered thats it. Hinkley is rated higher at GC i would imagine.

Reading the Herald Sun yesterday, they reckon Leon Cameron has it. Just has to get the OK with the family and he will take the job. Won't be announced till next week though due to his GF comittments at Hawthorn

Why would Ratten coach at all next year?
Getting paid by Carlton to do stuff all, why not have a break for a year and at the end of the year the Melbourne and Richmond coaches are out of contract. Not sure he wants to leave Melbourne or be an assistant

Yeah exactly and IMO was on a hiding to nothing going for the Port job.

Needs some time off ala Matthew Knights and you see how well he has done out of it.
