It would be nice if they advised the amount of Honorary and 50+ SACA Members who registered their interest.
Hope you can claim the $75 on your tax as it sounds more like a donation.

Not really interested in the ultimate package and not just because of the cost

More interested in the cricket/crows package as I'm more likely to watch them than that other bankrupt mob.......

but surley the problem is going to be that the cost of the ultimate membership wouldnt be more than the cost of the cricket + football individually so how much are they going to be individually when they are 300 + 450 ish now?

A few things...

1) a market research survey is somewhat different from a vote
2) the results of that survey were never made public
3) the estimated prices quoted in the pre-vote marerials were exactly as I quoted above, and at no time was $900-$1000 mentioned
4) in my response to the survey, I very strongly indicated that any increase to prices was not acceptable to me, given I was really only interested in the cricket

And here is an interesting article: http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news/na ... 6464309181

Yes it was.

Even heater commented at the $900- price for ultimate package quoted in the survey!!!!!!!!!!!!

The survey contained a number of potential pricing structures - some as low as $300-$400.

I voted for that one!

Interesting that SMAC has gone quiet on this now...

Oh, and a caveat for the footy crowd who are used to being able to have others use their membership tickets...

The ultimate memberships are NON-TRANSFERABLE, like the current SACA ones.

As a follow up to our recent email relating to the registration for the new football & cricket combined Adelaide Oval Ultimate Memberships, as well as the article in The Advertiser on Thursday, a number of Members have raised some questions that we would like to answer:
Can I keep my football only Premier Membership at Adelaide Oval in 2014?
Definitely! If you want to remain a football Member, simply renew your Premier Membership for Season 2013 at AAMI Stadium, and then again at Adelaide Oval for Season 2014. Same membership, just a new venue!

Who needs to pay the $75 registration?
Only Members who would like a chance to secure an Adelaide Oval Ultimate Membership will need to pay the $75 registration as this is a brand new exclusive SMA managed Membership.

What if I'm a Member of both the SANFL and SACA? Do I have to pay two $75 registrations?
As this is a brand new SMA product, and the SANFL and SACA are two separate organisations, there is no one combined payment option. If you hold both an SANFL Premier Membership and SACA Membership then it's really up to you as to who you would like to register under.

If you do decide to register your $75 as a Premier Member, you would be well placed to secure an Adelaide Oval Ultimate Membership. We currently have approximately 6,500 Premier Members and an allocation of 6,100 Ultimate Memberships available for SANFL Members.

Will the Adelaide Oval Ultimate Membership be transferable?
No, the Adelaide Oval Ultimate Membership will be non-transferable, similar to MCC Memberships at the MCG. This means that the named membership holder is the only person who will be able to use this membership at Adelaide Oval. Please note, your current SANFL Premier Membership will remain fully transferable in 2014.

Where will I be sitting in the Members at Adelaide Oval?
All Premier and Adelaide Oval Ultimate Members will be sitting in the Members Area on the Western side of the ground.

Will I be able to buy a Car Park or Reserved Seats?
Details on reserved seating and car parking options will be provided as soon as it has been finalised.

We assure you that if any more information comes to hand we will pass this on, and you can look forward to the SMA's official launch on October 31st 2012 for more details!

This is becoming a bigger and bigger joke.

Do I have these facts right?

AO Ultimate Membership will allegedly cost a minimum of $900
SACA Membership is currently $300.
SANFL Premier Membership $455.

Ultimate Membership = SACA Membership + SANFL Premier Membership MINUS the transferable nature of the SANFL Membership = at least $900 + $75 joining fee

Joke #1) So to make this an attractive package what will the SACA and SANFL memberships purchased separately increase to? It would need to be at least $1200 given that many SANFL members would share their membership with friends who support the "opposite" team.
So something like this? SACA membership $500 and SANFL membership $700?

Keep in mind that MCG full members pay $609 and receive access to ALL cricket and football games there, including Boxing Day Test, Anzac Day, all finals and AFL Grand Final, plus many more regular AFL and international cricket games than Adelaide Oval gets.

Joke #2)
SACA and the SANFL have both been allocated 6100 of these Ultimate Memberships.

SACA have approx 18,000 members
SANFL have approx 6500 premier members.
Presumably a high proportion of those interested in the ultimate membership already have both. Say you are a SANFL premier member. Why would you pay a $75 joining fee so far in advance when
a) you lose your transferable nature of your football ticket
b) there is no way that at least 6100 of the 6500 premier members will all join, and some of them will presumably join via the SACA anyway

Other questions: Say you have both memberships and you pay your non-refundable $75 via the SACA. Say they are oversubscribed (possible due to propaganda campaign) but the SANFL are under-subscribed. Do you have to pay another $75 to join via them? I bet you will!

The demand for this product SHOULD be very low, but given the SMA propaganda machine will be out in full force, maybe they will sell quite a few?
What will be more interesting is what the demand will be like after a few years when the novelty of the new stadium wears off, and more people realise how ripped off they are compared to what people pay for the MCG especially.

On a side note I see SACA members cannot purchase Guest passes to this years BBL games, did that without telling us also!!! Its the only games my wife will come to so I planned on buying them again as needed, if I had known this upfront I would have purchased an Associate ticket for her...

Depends if you mean the whole project being completed for the Ashes or the ground being usable for the Ashes.

According to this article only the new Eastern stand will be incomplete by the time of the Ashes. So the capacity for the Ashes will be 35,000 with the Eastern stand taking the capacity to 53,000 once completed in time for the footy.

http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news/ad ... 6490969970

It won't be a good look for the Ashes series with the construction of the Southern stand still going on.

Spot what is missing from the notso-ultimate membership in the official media release  Shambles!

The price for the Adelaide Ultimate membership is $795, which entitles the member to all SANFL games, SACA international and domestic cricket as well as priority access to other events such as rugby union, rugby league, soccer and concerts.

http://www.cricketsa.com.au/Article/NewsDetail.aspx?p=338&id=1818

So it is $795 + $75 joining fee and is non-transferable and doesn't include AFL finals or NAB Cup games!
