Seems appropriate to me.

Retire - To fall back or retreat, as from battle

I know which one I'd prefer.

Roy will certainly be up there with the best and his record with Central is just fantastic. A great club man and a good, honest bloke as well. Congrats on the career and wish you the very best in your future plans

I'll wait for an official anouncement from the club before commenting, not just something mentioned on 5AA.
Let me guess, Cornes broke the 'story'?

Wouldnt Jeff Brown the reserves coach step into the Job. Knows the players better than most!

Probably better suited to developing younger players, is Browny. I think Gavin Chaplin would make a great League coach.

Has already expressed to the media that he harbours no desire whatsoever to be a senior coach in the SANFL...

He's a pretty good football judge though, halfway through the year on an ABC telecast he said that 'we're not anywhere near the level we have been'.
'People are not stupid. They know when they are being conned. And two reserves teams operating in a League competition will reduce it to a farce, a competition without a soul.'

Isn't his soon-to-be wife based in Sydney for her work on Channel 7?

I don't think S.Dew will be Central District's next League coach, personally...

Roy was apparently on Channel 10 news tonight saying he hasn't made a decision on his coaching future, as yet, but will let the club know on Thursday what his intentions are.
