Everyone except for Grundy accepted their sanctions. No Stevie J this week. Good luck to Grundy at the tribunal.

i would assume his defence will be 'not sufficient force to warrant a report'. he didn't exactly hit him hard. was bloody stupid though.

Will be an interesting case!

Cats don't need Johnson anyway, take the 1 week let him rest up for the trip to either Sydney or Adelaide ;)

NICK Maxwell's finals series is in jeopardy, with the Collingwood captain offered a two-week suspension by the Match Review Panel for his off-the-ball bump on Hawthorn's Paul Puopolo.

His teammate Chris Tarrant can accept a reprimand for striking Lance Franklin, while Hawk Jarryd Roughead has also escaped suspension, being handed a reprimand for rough conduct on Chris Dawes.

Maxwell's bump was classed as a level three offence for engaging in rough conduct. The MRP assessed the incident as reckless conduct, medium impact and high contact, after Puopolo left the field with a bloodied nose.

In total Maxwell drew 325 demerit points and a three-match sanction, but an early guilty plea reduces the sanction by 25 per cent to 243.75 points and two-match penalty.

It would mean Maxwell would only play again this year if the Magpies make the Grand Final.

Good five-year records saved Roughead and Tarrant from one-game suspensions, however, West Coast's Quinten Lynch could miss this weekend's semi-final clash with the Magpies after being hit with a one-match ban for charging Kangaroos defender Scott McMahon.

Lynch's poor record means the Eagles forward will need to take his case to the AFL Tribunal if he is to face Collingwood on Saturday night at the MCG. Lynch has an existing bad record of over the last two years, and the last 12 months, seeing his points tally boosted.

North's Brent Harvey (four weeks) and Geelong's James Kelly (one week) will also have delayed starts to 2013 after receiving bans.

Harvey, who recently signed a new one-year deal to take him into his 18th AFL season, is unlikely to appear until round five after being suspended for two separate incidents.

The 34-year-old was given a three-week ban for his strike to Daniel Kerr, and a one-match sanction for his strike on Adam Selwood.

Kelly's front-on bump on Fremantle's Tendai Mzungu was assessed as negligent contact, low impact and high contact. He could have escaped with a reprimand, but had 93.75 demerit points carried over from the last 12 months.

Collingwood's Heath Shaw and Hawthorn's Brad Sewell have each been charged with a first offence for wrestling in Friday night's qualifying final, while Adelaide Crow star Patrick Dangerfield was charged with a first offence of making negligent contact with an umpire.

Think Maxwell is probably a bit unlucky but on the other hand he should have got weeks a few years back for the McGinnity incident where he did initially get 4 but got completely overturned on appeal so for him it's evened itself out for the moment.

Thats hard to believe. I couldnt believe the Kanga's players didn't fly the flag for McMahon a little more than they did after the Lynch incident, although being 15 goals down in a knockout final is not a good time to start a blue. I couldn't believe that only one Roos player ran in to remonstrate with him.
