Potential finals side

Postby sjt » Wed Sep 05, 2012 2:19 pm

I was thinking how our side may potentially look come finals versus the GF side last year, and where we're at in comparison.

Potentially the INS: Obst, Sibenaler, Collier, Hardy, Nason, Symes, Nash, Henderson (??)

OUTS; Spurr, Havelberg, Callinan, Sutherland.

How have the other teams changed from last years finals?

(I haven't included guys like Marschall that were available last year.)

If the Eagles make it - out from premiership side would be Allmond, Treeby, Tiller, Rimington, Toumpas.

Possible ins for finals who are either recruits or were injured or unavailable in finals last year would be Rowntree, Knights, Sumner, Kane*, Shirley, Eddy.

*If the Eagles survive to Prelim.

Ellis Yolmen, Rae & Joyce also. Unless Eddy gets a heart transplant at the QEH soon, it's unlikely he could or will convince anyone that he's worth a punt this late in the season! The couple of injuries Eddy has gotten are long gone and if he can't or won't give the Eagles something right now when it's obvious the team needs all guns blazing, then Godden should stick the second year of his contract down the old S bend and flush away!

Rowntree is better than all of last year's out (at this time last year, we all know Toumpas is going on to bigger things), he would have been in the side last year except for illness.
Individually each of the new players apart from Kane are "on paper" better players, but as a group they are all a bit the same, similar heights, steady-paced (Sumner may be a bit quicker). The group of outs from last year had more variety, more pace, more aggression and attitude.

I almost read this thread, but as soon as I opened it I realised the title was misleading, and it was about Centrals... ;)

Thanks mate!

I expect Jericho, Suckling, Batsanis, and Terlich will be in, but I'm not sure about Donohoe and Gallagher.
I couldn't hazard a guess about whom they will leave out.

Norwood have forward targets and more class and grunt in the centre, they just has to put both these into play on the day....
