Was within 15 metres of the Staples tackle and the abuse was all directed at the umpire, none or little towards the sturt player.

Agree with you Centurion...

... each position on the table means different things to different supporters in different years. Sometimes coming 3rd is a fantastic result, sometimes its so close but so far, sometimes 7th is great, sometimes its a disaster. Winning the premiership is the ultimate, but its not the only example of success in a given year.

Maybe, but only one team can say that it had a really crap year...

whats worse having a "really" crap year all year or being in the 5 for 95% of the year and then miss finals in the last 2 rounds?

Glass half full/half empty, just an opinion really.

... my only concern about the Reserves is that they might be good Reserves players, but not league players. As we've had a top Reserves side for years, but we've still slumped from 2009 GF to successive spoons without much of a yelp.

There are some good players there, I agree, but I'm going with the assumption that South and Port and Torrens will improve themselves, leaving us behind them, I can only really hope that Glenelg and North crash.

it is hard for him to get dropped from GWS when he is on the Gold Coast list.

Very open game at Unley, both sides on the attack for most of the day, very entertaining. Steak sandwiches at the top of their game too. All five of us made that purchase at different times of the day and the standard was uniformly top class. Unley wins the food award every year on my experience anyway. They are so organised too with the different coloured plastic tokens and such friendly people. We can't lose Sturt or any club from this comp.
