Any truth to the rumour?

Wouldn't surprise me. David's boss is linked to Blackwood through his kids playing netball there so i'm sure he would be trying to get David out there to help Blackwood.

Looks like your on the money Mirror, an old team manager confirmed it to me over the weekend. The woods are after one David Earl!

This site is getting a little stagnant so let me share my opinion and ask for some input on a few questions over the finals series that is fast approaching.

First having seen Mt Barker twice this year I see no real weakness or no way that they can lose this GF having said that, finals gets teams and players to lift that extra level. When Mt barker beat us 2 times this year I sat there for minutes on end thinking that our side was competitive before seeing a 5 minute burst from the roos sees them 6 goal up at half time and they end up winning by 10 to 12 goals. This is the sign of a good team. Anyone see them being beaten? If so by who? I still have question marks on them in the big games.....last year straight sets after winning the courier cup and we all know what happened the year before that.
Last year we saw onkas come from elimination final and reach a prelim, there is no reason why either of these sides can’t do it this year which speaks highly of the level of competiveness involved in this competition. Both sides have game breakers but for me it’s TV and if Ellis gets enough ball from mazzone and price they could give it a shake. Anyone agree?
I see the Uri Handorf game being a cracker. Both sides have the experience, with barta and cooper vs. Sutherland and the McLean’s so it may come down to the younger edge of both sides. Both of these teams beat us this year but I found myself far more convinced by handorf then by Uri who seemed to only kick into gear when we got within a goal or 2. So Handorf for mine.
I think from the handorf point of view if they do get through then can beat Mt barker, barker have had nothing to play for since about the half way point of the year while handorf have had to continually try and wrap up 3rd spot. This may make them battle ready and if Mt barker come out a bit flat or their kids are nervous like we saw last year and the year before Handorf are a big chance.

Good post there Outsmarts. I was trying to work out which club you might be from...Woodsmen?

The big difference with the 2012 version of Mt Barker is that they are much better prepared for games, fitter and move the ball quicker since Samuels took over as coach. Alby was all fire-and-brimstone stuff but I reckon the boys needed more than that and they get that with Samuels.

For mine, Bankers are a smokey and I reckon all the others, including the Roos, will be hoping they get knocked out of the finals early. Bankers are harder to read than the Bible and that might be good for them.

I haven't been a fan of Uris this year, but hey, they have an awesome record lately come September and we've fallen on our faces. I just think they're a bit slow up forward and if the ball isn't going in lace out to their big boys, they could struggle.

Agree with you about Hahndorf being very dangerous. Going nicely under the radar and hard as nails over the ball. I'd like to think that the Roos have got their measure this year, but as we've seen....................

understand many of the clubs are unhappy with the treatment one club is receiving. 2 finals and a junior preso night. Blackwood are so upset a phone call has been made to the SFL re next season. I know we here this each year but I also know the call happened and when considering the people getting involved now at Blackwood and their history it seems a possiblity.

Nothing on Sporting Pulse re this.
FWIW:
I can't see anyone beating the Roos to the flag, it's just a case of who else will be there on the day.
Uris - straight sets out.
Hahndorf - they're who I think will be in the big dance with the Roos. I had IB as my darky but Hahndorf really seem to be a good mix.
IB to beat TV this weekend.

give us all a break. blackwood and the sfl is an annual drama played out on these forums. however, i cant for a minute believe that the catalyst to leave is that onkas have been given more finals games than them. not even blackwood could be that petty.

funny thing is that most hfl teams would be happy to see the back of them, and return the comp for hills based teams.

Usual rumour, sounds like Blackwood bitching which is typical. They won't go anywhere but we'll keep hearing plenty of complaining.
