I don't think there are many who would want to see that
Some on here have made it very clear they would. Like they say, you can forgive but not forget.

Without getting all CSBowes on us, who is then?
Can Merv Keane's sacking really be to blame?

I dont see a workable solution to the reserves issue and I dont know that either AFL club or the SANFL do either, without completely compromising the SANFL.

Those days are looooooong gone regards beating port imo, they haven't been near to being a force for a long time, beating them is nothing like it used to be.
As for crowds, I was at alberton a few weeks ago and the attendance was sad. Last sun at prospect (stand alone game) less than 3k.
Port's crowd no's (whilst the best in the sanfl for a long time) are now over rated and almost a myth.
Having 400-500 more to a game is small fry and almost irrelevant. Projected crowd figures for norwood v port last time at the parade were well below expectations.
I am not doubting for one minute port have the biggest following in the sanfl and I am not trying to whack port either - but I won't subscribe to "no port - no sanfl".

Plenty is going on at the Magpies behind the scenes and my mail is that they have had a significant offer put to them for a relocation to their country zone, rumour has it this offer is back on the table should the Power wish to end their association. No shortage of money there either.

If the afl clubs sole desire is to develope it's players by playing in one team under a unified game plan.
Why did they turn down playing in sanfl reserves ???
It's the perfect solution afl clubs get what they want without compromising sanfl comp.
Maybe it isn't really what they desire ???

I agree, this for mine is the best option as far as the SANFL's integrity goes, but obviously not ideal for the two AFL clubs to have their players playing reserves grade football every week.
Did we just agree on something?![]()
