In all seriousness I pray this isn't true. The competition needs all remaining teams in it.

Look at how many supporters Torrens and Woodville lost when we merged. And that was pre-crows/power. We did well to keep the numbers we now have. I think any new merger would be lucky to attract more than a few hundred supporters. And those that choose not to support either team will be lost to the SANFL forever.....which will in turn create less interest in the SANFL and cause more clubs to go to the wall.....until the AFL comes in as the white knight and takes over the entire show

Port Adelaide are a shadow of their former self. They have sold out to the corporate dollar which in turn has deserted them as well. The SANFL should give them their original wish and kick the traitors out of their competition and hand their licence to the AFL then Andy Dimwitrou can look after them

If and that's a huge if, the SANFL deemed it has to be Sturt to go then you'd think that they will be facing the same issue with Port Magpies shortly after if their license is handed over to the AFL. Both AFL clubs will be pushing for reserves, the SANFL have made it clear that there will be no AFL reserves in the SANFL so they will have to look elsewhere thus a complication for Port Magpies/Power. Once the AFL have the control of Port and the final say they won't think twice about slimming down the clubs workings. Hence Port Magpies will either become the reserves in another comp ie VFL and the PAFC cease to have any representation in the SANFL whatsoever. This whole Port in the AFL thing has been a can of worms.

just look at what the SANFL did to help Port in the early 80s, or Sturt in the 90s, or North in the early 2000s, and that will show you that your comment ins't correct. The SANFL have shown they don't care about their teams financial states and won't lift a finger to help them.

the SANFL really can't afford to get rid of any teams, all the teams combined are what make up the culture of the SANFL, losing a part of that effects every team

If the sanfl hadn't wasted millions re-modelling a dead duck for years they would be able to bail out any Struggling sanfl Club.

Our last two years of having to play port magpies . All I can say is lets enjoy them.
