With how quickly clubs have to put the results in after the game I am normally sill speaking to the players when it is being uploaded.

If I was coaching there would be no way in the world I'd put my best players in any publication, not for the first 9 rounds anyway.
I'd rather see some fringe back pocket player getting tagged because he's been listed in the best 3 each week.

One week I was being hounded to do it so I named the 3 blokes that started on the bench, someone who got injured early and then randomly picked someone. I dont care whose name gets put in the paper or up on sportingpulse, its nout junior footy anymore. You want to be recognised for having a good game get back to the club for presentations.

I can say that I never gave Mackereth BOG on sportingpulse but as I said I only had input 2-3 times. The team manager had most the say on what went onto sportingpulse for both home and away games, considering the team manager is his biggest fan I am surprised he only got it 5 times for the year. Also I think Kym Schmidt got a mention on there most weeks and he is his brother in-law and loved giving him the votes on sportingpulse.

well well hello to the mackereth family and friends who were so proud to see the the lads name in the paper, but now to hear it was just there cos he's the managers love child

the guy has been invited to the medal has he not, top 10?? considering he was given a mention in only 6 games he must poll alright in the 5 false BOGs

im not arguing with you here boys, im merely stating look at the stats before u randomly chuck some big name bloke in cos u essentially cant think of a no name that might have done better

and if this is the case then i feel sorry for the boys that miss out

What are you on about Marbles?? Toddy is our vice captain and will poll very highly in our club BnF. What we have been saying is you can not use the names listed on sportingpulse to pick the TOTY. I take from the highlighted comment and another in your previous posts that your main gripe is that Ben Noske is being considered for TOTY?

Turn it up marbles!

I would back in Yank Man, BigShow, BPWizard et al and other people who watch the games week in, week out, over a mud-analysis of sporting pulse.

Are people positions included in Sporting pulse? How about blokes that routinely get 6th best? What about blokes that only get in the best against Flinders Uni and Smithfield?

The coaches of each respective team would know the best of anyone and thats good enough for me.

So, are you a coach, marbles? - be careful you might give away your identity and then have to face up to your anonymous internet ramblings....

Err trippa im backing them in too

My only issue is with about 5 or 6 names that hav been thrown into the team of the year because of their calibre and not because of their seasons consistency

I bet that bearded abraham lincoln lookalike at MP has done twice as much as noske thus season

Noske would be pissin his pants laughing that hes been considered in top 20 performers all year

haha good old Abe. Yeah Davo has been very good this year, knee trouble probably prevent him from being in the team of the year but would be close.

Noske is in my team.

I thought I would weigh in here, considering that there is a lot of talk about Noske, who is one of my teammates and a personal friend.

Ben is actually one of our most important players because of the leadership and quality of possession that he gets across the midfield. From my point of view, our two best performing midfielders this year would be Mount (no surprise) and Roughton, who has also played div1 footy.

I would say that the amount of BOG's that Roughton has got this year doesn't reflect how great he has played so couldn't rely on sporting pulse for that information.

Typically someone becomes a big name or well known by other coaches because they consistently play good football, which isn't always recognised by their own coach because they see it every week and it is expected, so don't get in the best as often as they should (Mounty would be an exception to this).

I don't understand why you wouldn't post your best players on the day on the internet and also at the club saturday night?? Give the players the credit they deserve. If a coach hasn't got 5 mins after a game to discuss your best players with the team manager..... gee. The best players should stick out in most games. Most young fella's these days live on the internet and to think they don't check the site for results is just naive. I know at FP we post accurate info. By the way good to see no FP players in the supposed team of the year. Not that we really give a toss anyway!!!

Give the players their accolades in front of their mates, keep them from the prying eyes of opposing coaches.

as an outsider i agree, Noske is certainly a valuable presence, as are your other boys of A-Grade experience, im envious as it was wished more of henleys boys would do the same

anyway, going through all of your players, and listing them under Mount, Roughton, Dow... would Noske be in your top 5 or 6 performers for the season and have displayed enough consistent matches to be in the top 20 performers in the whole of the competition

Who would you nominate from FP to be in the team of the year Cows? One thing about your team is I always struggled to find a stand out from you blokes both times we played FP. I always felt you had such an even spread across the board which probably went right through your D grade aswell. Although in saying that the first time we played FP at your ground one of your midfielders was really good but I never paid attention to his name. I dont think he played against us the second time.

To be eligible for TOTY you must have played a certain amount of games which Noske has but not sure how many of TTG's other A grade experienced players have? This is where I think Noske gets the edge on some of his other team mates.

Our starting midfield has pretty much been Dow, Mount, Noske and Roughton all year with other A grade experience floating in and out or starting later in the season, eg Chambers, Vansoest and Quinn.

I can comfortably say that Noske is in the top 5 or 6 in our team. Fully fit, he would probably be on the same level as Mounty. Whether he is in the top 20 is probably better coming from opposition coaches as I have a biased view. It seems that he is, because you seem to be the only who doesn't agree so far marbles.

I'm with Hanzey, I also had a chat with Dan and he pretty much agreed that Ben would be in the top 3 or 4 players for TTG this year. Kind of makes sense then that he would be in very strong consideration for TOTY I would have thought as TTG have been very good all year.

Sorry marbles, you're wrong mate.

Looking at the team Yank Man put up I wonder if Noske should be named on the interchange and not in a BP? How much time has he spent in the backlines this year? He went back there when we played TTG the first time but that was more to shake a tag then anything else. Is he stopping a genuine BP from a spot in the team? I think he should be in the team because was fantastic both times we played TTG just not sure if he should be BP. Something different to think about ;)
