I dont think anyone from GG A grade side can win it as its been a pretty even team spread with no real stand outs through out the season.

reserves best chances are jack churchill and mitch buttress.

Why Jimmy is migrating to Sweden this week is less of a mystery

Care to explain, the few I had spoke to from Div 3 seem to be of the same opinion that he was one of the Favorites

Have top 4 been released? Not on website like usual
If he doesn't finish with most votes from kilburn it would be absolute rubbish

How TF would I know? - I'm not a Div 3 umpire and I'm only going on what you've said that he wasn't invited

This is not a club B & F, so expect the unexpected. Has been going on since Adam was a boy, where a player wins an association medal, and does not get close in their club B & F. Guys win Brownlow and Magarey Medals, and not been in the top 25 on the betting list. It is what it is. It is purely an umpires medal and almost exclusively won by a midfielder.

and plays the best in the last qtr. I have always thought a club B and F is worth more then a association medal.

Clearly a club B & F is worth much more. Coaches and their staff, who assign tasks to players and know exactly what roles that players have within their team structure, generally pick all clubs B & F awards and are always best positioned to know the true value of players over spectators, support staff or umpires. They clearly are in better position to know what players from either the opposition or their own side have the most influence. This is an umpires award, so we should all understand they will generally see those under their noses, and not understand or see the roles that players are given each week. Two vastly different medals or awards.

Its an interesting day with the lists to be realesed today for all the medal contenders Div 3 downwards and the count on Wednesday night at Thebarton from 6.30pm.
This year the medal winners will be briefly interviewed on stage and have an oppurtunity to thank whom ever they want and say a few words. I think this is a nice touch as those that do win deserve a little time in the spot light and no medal comes without tireless amounts of work and is often due to support of others behind the scenes.
The counts will start from Round 12 to avoid an endless round of votes after round of votes and in an attempt to have winners recieving their association medals closer together so as to be recognised by their peers and those from other divisions and grades.
Grassroots will be covering the event with a couple of cameras and looking for tips beforehand for those of you that claim to know so much about your various divisions.
Good luck to all medal contenders :)

Can you still win a club B&F if you have been suspended?

Are you serious. Most umpires discuss possible best players at the end of each quarter.

Yep I've seen players do nothing for 3 qtrs and have a good last qtr and get votes. Not all umpires vote that way but a lot do as it does stand out especially if it's a close game.

Well I've seen plenty from the flip side, blokes getting on the cans and then submitting their votes, players family members getting regular slips, coaching juniors once I seen a woman spend the first half at the playground who had a slip, I sent the team manager over to get the slip off of her and it was already filled out.
