Something to learn from. Our boys are planning the footy trip after finishing third in 'C's against fringe players from Central Div 1 clubs. We don't have an on-ground budget. Our players, coach, trainers and water-runners don't get a cent. We played every game with a full side and won 7 including finals. Our best player gets a dinner or two at the local pub. Points, what points? Budget, what budget? Whatever happened to LOVE OF THE JUMPER?
Players win awards. Teams win games. Clubs win Premierships.

Saw the Echunga oval first hand this morning and it was in top nick condition. Go out to Nairne and it was an absolute bog hole!!!
Tell me who is actually choosing these grounds and are they actually visiting the ovals???????
Today's A grade game would have been a lot better game to watch if played on an oval were blokes actually kept their shoes on instead of loosing them in 2 feet of mud!
The only time i've ever been wrong...was when I thought I was wrong!!!

In all seriousness, this is finals football, and IMO, the best ovals available should be utilized. Surely the league, can go for a drive early in the week, and select grounds, not facilities, on there merits, so we can see the best teams for the year, play some good footy, not like the slog fest that was yesterday, and what will be today I'm presuming. Surely there are another 3 or 4 ovals that are in pretty good nic at the moment, despite the weather we have had.
HFL, get your head out of your a$$e$, if you havn't already, you are going about destroying this competition in all the right ways!!!

Don't waste your time and energy HTR trying to convince a totally dead and maggoted horse the bleeding obvious. Good luck to Milang for a season to celebrate and as you said, it was all for free. Enjoy your footy trip

Just back from a pretty muddy Birdwood Oval (Velodrome).... Next weeks grounds, Maccy (Fair enough), and Kersbrook!

The HFL clearly not keen on using good (dry) ovals, such as Echunga..... why would that be?

Was at Kersbrook oval about a month ago - it was OK.... more a case of being not particualarly central. When you look at the ground, and they way it "sits" you would think it would be wet, but drainage must be reasonable.

Heard the same re Cally & Maccy - not wanting to flog the provebial dead horse, but really do Cally deserve to host a final, dry oval or not!

Pinarello when does not being central mean not being a good dry oval i am sure Birdwood are not complaining having to drive 10 mins to play on Sunday.

Second Round of Finals -
Second Semi Final - Saturday at Macclesfield
Echunga Vs Kersbrook - I cannot see Kersbrook winning this one, but they have played finals at Maccy before and won when not expected too. Who knows Echunga by a goal.

First Semi Final - Sunday at Kersbrook
Birdwood Vs Meadows - Meadows did knock off Birdwood earlier in the year, but I would say Birdwood would want to get back into the winners circle after 2 dissapointing weeks. Birdwood by 5 goals.

I also notice on Sporting Pulse that the following grounds are already up:
Preliminary Final will be held at Callington
and
Grand Final will be held at Macclesfield.
