If it is only a broken leg he will be OK, pretty tough guy is Batman ! ;)
Remember Garry McIntosh played a quarter of football at Alberton with a broken bone in his leg.

Option c) fester making up bs!!

Batsanis was in the race wearing a moonboot and he told me "at this stage no signs of a break." Because it was my understanding he had left the ground and gone to the hospital, I assumed he would of had scans.

Option d) who really cares about anyone else's opinions!!

Like, is Godden, having taken a team from top to mediocrity in less than twelve months, the man to rebuild the Eagles when McKenzie, Cicollela, Jarrad, Parry and, most importantly, Powell all retire?

Given he would have approved the signing of Eddy, you have to question his judgement and ability. Nothing I've seen from the Eagles this year suggests anything other than Godden got super lucky in 2011 based almost entirely on the work of Ron Fuller.

Of those who may retire, I think in order of importance to the eages are Parry>Jarrad>Mckenzie>Powell>Cicca

Cicca won't be missed much as he is well past his prime and I actually think the way he plays the game now is very disruptive to the team. He has had very little influence this year. Many would disagree with me but I honestly don't think it is the end of hte world if Powell goes. He unbdoubtedly gives 110% which is fantastic but I've always thought he lacks polish with his disposal and cannot be relied upon to kick the crunch goals when the pressure is on. Don't get me wrong, I really think he adds something and hope he plays on but I just don't think it will be the end of the world. Jarrad and McKenzie are more important - McKenzie because he adds reliabilty and polish in the background and Jarrad because of his run and carry, something that is in short supply at the eagles. Parry, well he is simply irreplaceable with the way he can influence a game.

Anyway despite this season's disaster, I am cautiously optimistic about next year. I think the entire board including the coach awknowledges the gaping holes in our playing list and I am sure next year we will be much more aggressive at attracting the players we need. I for one still question Godden's coaching ability but I guess I will reserve my judgement till next year.

As for the game, on Sunday, Norwood far too good. Phillips once again killed us and it was poor by Godden not to have used Raymond on him earlier before he kicked 3 goals and blew us out of the water. However any norwood supporters think this year they are miles ahead of any other team this season are kidding themselves. They seemed pretty unimpressive against a far worse opposition. I am certain that West and Centrals should be considered at least as equal favourites for the premiership. I am just dreading a West vs Norwood GF in terms of the spectacle from two ultra-defenisve clubs.

Might have to rethink that ladder and include your own side now, goraw

Holden78 and Fester neck and neck for the biggest DH's on this site.

All jokes (and non jokes) aside Norwood have done remarkably well to be where they are considering the injuries to top line key players they have suffered throughout this season. To some degree it would be cruel if it it is injuries that cost them a flag in 2012.

Good sensible post Mr F .. Obviously I don't see the Eagles that often, but I would think that whilst the Eagles would miss Cica and McKenzie, based on this years form they would miss them less than if they'd lost them earlier. I thought Powell and Jarrad were playing on in 2013 .. Both sensational players - Powell is like Simon Black in terms of the respect he has from all clubs supporters I think and Jarrad despite the barbs he's copped at times is experienced class, which seems to be diminishing a bit each season in the SANFL.

In terms of Norwood supporters getting ahead of themselves, I honestly reckon that can only end in tears, so again I agree with you .. I really don't think there's much at all between the top 3, and I reckon North have proven they are capable for going on a run and claim a few scalps that many wouldn't have thought.

True enough and even this year Centrals have been undermanned for a large protion of the year but hard to argue against Norwood's injury list this year.

Im sure the injuries didn't help, but you cost yourselves in the big one last year mate (IMHO), even with the cattle you had.

Do you actually know any Norwood fans getting ahead of themselves though? I certainly don't.

All of them recognize we've had a great minor round but all that does is maximize our chance of appearing in the GF.

And that's all.

apoligies if this has already been asked and answered, but.....

Eagles didn't score in the second and last term yesterday. When is the last time a team did not score a point to a particular end of the ground for the whole game?
