There are several options on the table that we are discussing for our future, but there are a lot of internal variables to consider, as well as waiting to see what, if any, changes the HFL come up with / implement as far as the divisions etc..

We do want the club to survive, however, we also know we cant put you all through another year of the same, so whatever decision is made, we will be setting ourselves a deadline, and if it's clear it's not going to work by then, then we will pull the pin.
Don't set dead-lines; it hasn't worked for you in the past and just prolongs the pain. But don't pull the pin either. Make a decision NOW.
If there are internal variables, confront them and deal with them by calling an AGM within a month, publicise it and call for community suggestions if any.
Field 'C's in 2013, as a multitude of sensible and knowledgeable footyheads on this site have suggested you do for several years.
I don't see the HFL coming up with any changes to the 2013 divisions at this stage, so don't make this as excuse for inaction.
And if it's your juniors you're worried about, an energetic group of parents should be able to lobby for and justify their inclusion next year somehow. You can't tell me the HFL would fail to accommodate a keen, well-managed junior team and would probably bend over backwards to do so.
'C's doesn't need a cast of thousands to make it happen. It would allow your club to re-build, re-focus and allow all involved to enjoy their footy again.
=D> =D> =D>
JEEZ WILL THIS BLOODY CALLINGTON SAGA EVER END? THE SOLUTION IS AS ABOVE, TOTALLY AGREE ON ALL COUNTS. ALL I'D LIKE TO KNOW NOW IS IF CALLINGTON ARE MAKING MONEY OUT OF ALL THESE FINALS AND IF SO WHY??
Yes, all clubs who host finals are set to make money.

Well start reeling them off! I too am sick of the C word, but for what it's worth this team looks pretty good and provides better debate than Callington's demise. Will the medal winner be in this side?

I think everyone here just wants to talk about footy. Unfortunately the status of Callington at this time is impeding decent discussion, which is why everyone wants to be rid of them on this site. There is a difference between proper footy and a joke. You can't blame posters here for attempting to create a level playing field by challenging the HFL to act decisively. I am certain no-one will whinge if this ever happens.
Older, wiser and been there. But still love that grassroots country footy.

Comparing the number of posts on this thread to the number of page views, the HFL Country thread would be just about the most viewed thread per post (HFL Central has more views, but more than double the posts).
As sad as it must be for Callington to be in the situation they are in, the League gets a lot more interest from outside it's own bubble because of it.

I don't know if you can compare competitions, but the club I am involved with had a four-year losing streak (broken by one game that we were down by about 130 points in the last before a player count occurred, to manage a 1-point win), followed by another two year losing streak.
These things happen, if there is a way out, it would be great to see, but if there's nothing that can change to have Cally competitive in that league, then they need to go.

Screw you, MP! I was at Waybacks for that count : ) Your Boston boys were nowhere near as bad as Cally. What some of the opposition players did to help Bostons out was incredibly admirable & a reflection of how community-minded Lincoln can be. I couldn't see that happening in the hills due to numbers being scarce as they are, plus there are 2 leagues to try to fill. Cally to C grade is the simple solution. The Milang boys seemed to enjoy their foray into C grade.

Im going opposite to you Champ, Birdwood and Nairne.

Just think Birdwood, although by all reports were pretty ordinary last week, will bounce back and get up, and word is Meadows may have had a few guys come down with the flu and not travelling very well, Nairne with a couple back.

You've also got to remember that the hills central topic was for the first few hundred pages a combination of country and central.

It used to be about callington and how much money they were spending at T/V. The T/V thing has gone quiet this year. New coach, a few different players and better results this year for T/V

It's unfortunate that the committee of callington football club are on holidays on the river DENILE in Egypt as they are planning for next season after 15 guys have said enough and retired so they need to find at least 30 players who have never heard of the callington football so this brings more problems fitting 21 new Players under the points and fitting them into a $ 2 000 budget for next season ..........good luck guys
Oh that also includes a coach I'm told
