Round 22 - Central v Sturt @ Playford Alive Oval (Sat 25/8)

Postby Big Phil » Sun Aug 19, 2012 9:38 pm

The Doggies turned it on in the final term against South last week and kicked 11 straight goals (they finished with a club record accurate 23.2) while the Double Blues just went down in a close one to the Tigers. You'd expect the Dogs will win this one comfortably, but stranger things have happened.

Our only chance is if turn around your accuracy and kick 2.23 this week.

Centrals 71-80 unfortunately...

... would rather see Sturt field the Reserves side and save the team for the last two rounds, which are games that we could win.

That would be enough can't see Sturt kicking 6 goals

Hopefully a 4 quarter effort and some key personnel returning to the side this week for centrals.

Went and watched Centrals train last night. Don't think I have ever seen a team train so hard. It was long and gruelling. Both the Gowans brothers trained as hard as anybody. Wish I could say the same for Westhoff.
I realise Centrals are peaking in training intensity in the lead up to finals and will be tapering soon but I was amazed at how heavy the session was and how well structured, passionate and committed Roy Laird was.
It appeared to be pretty much a full squad on the track apart from Sutherland.
I wouldn't be writing them off this year.

Spoke to recently left Ash Fry and he was saying that the 'hard training period' was harder than the pre season training.
