I think Norwood will go for a win, but not at all costs.
I expect to see some experimentation with players like Stopp, and other ruck options, and some keys players with minor injuries not being risked.

Every club always "goes for the win" (unless its Melbourne or West Coast) .. Players needing a rest will get it, but those that are selected have no excuses and will be right to go.

Hopefully Grocke recovers from his concussion. To beat the top side at their home ground without Parry and Grocke will be asking a lot.

Good to see Aaron Day best in the reserves. He should get his chance to slot back into the back six replacing Giuffreda who is injured.

Redden and Knights seem to get dropped from their AFL clubs every 2nd week so hopefully they are available for us.

Eagles have everything on the line and Norwood don't have anything riding on this game, besides preparation for the finals. Norwood are perhaps at their most vulnerable at the moment, but I still can't see the Eagles winning this one. The last time we had a challenge like this was after coming off a couple of wins and playing against Central at Elizabeth and that was just about the worst performance we had this season. Will be hopeful but not confident.

I'm  that everyone is prepared to write the Eagles off. With our season on the line each and every week the Eagles will come to play and do everything they can to keep their finals alive. The last game between the two was very close only 12 points the margin. Even a loss here wouldn't be curtains for our season as North have Port and Glenelg the bye so there would still only be a 1 game gap between us and 5th. Who's to say the Eagles won't upset Norwood. A lot will depend on how Grocke pulls up and whether we get any AFL listed talent back. I'm prepared to wait for selections before I tip a winner in this one.

Reckon the Eagles are every chance to take the two points this week. I expect the Legs will still be keen to rest some key players and play some guys in different roles, with a view to having a pre-finals hit out against the Bays the following week.

The Eagles if they can have a few less passengers, will have an opportunity to grind one out and get up by a small margin 1-2 goals.
Redden would make a huge difference on such a small ground and could provide us with first look which you need against Norwood before they get setup defensively.

H78 doesn't pay attention does he?

So if we lose it is no big deal but it would allow the eagles to take 5th spot and facilitate a possible 2011 GF rematch with the dogs in week 2 of the finals....now that is a thought worthy of a tremble!

Safe to say there four other teams will be happier going into the major round if the Eagles aren't the other team to make it.

Even if they were to rest a few players, I'd still expect Norwood to win by a few goals. They would want to do anything they can now to try to prevent having to come up against the Eagles in the finals.

IF this scenario unfolded

Rd 22
- Norwood d Eagles

Rd 23
- Norwood d Glenelg
- Eagles d Sturt

Then both Eagles and Glenelg will be on 8 wins and a very similar percentage

But Port clearly have the best percentage
If Port beats both North & West they will be on 8 wins and in the five
or If Port goes 1-1 v North & West they will on 7 wins but still a chance if Eagles and Glenelg falter in the final round.

Either way we will go into the final round with three teams alive for one spot

A further scenario to consider

Rd 22
- Norwood d Eagles
- Port d North

Rd 23
- Norwood d Glenelg
- Eagles d Sturt
- Port d West
- South d North

Then we have Port, North, Glenelg and Eagles all on 8 wins heading into the final round

And all four games in Rd 24 would be critical in determining the final five with percentage playing a part finalising positions 4-7
- Central v North
- Port v Sturt
- Eagles v West
- Glenelg v South

Now who said the program for 2012 was shite??

Looks like a very interesting lead up to the finals, particularly all those teams beating up on each other to get there let alone play in the first round of finals
