Hasn't kicked less than two goals this year. All key stats up on last year. Even the goalkicking leader Justin Hardy has kicked less than two goals on five occasions this year. Michael Wundke has done that three times.

Thought we were ordinary early but our last half was excellent.

Umpiring was terrible IMO.

These 3 happened in front of me
First quarter

Brad Fisher to umpire : he was holding me
Umpire : It was only for a moment

Second quarter

Ferg going back with the flight of the ball, eyes on the ball

Ferg: what was that for
Umpire: you cant do that
Ferg: what come back with the flight of the ball

Last quarter
Aaron Fielke: come on umpire you saw him throw that
Umpire: yeah might have

Not complaining about the umpires but hearing the conversations thinking what is going on.

Well done boys, great top beat Norwood and Dogs in consecutive weeks. Finals here we come :D :D

The umps just taking the piss, knowing there was a bloods supporter in the vicinity...lol

I have to say as a neutral watching it on TV the umpiring was poor and confusing both ways. The decision against Ferguson was one of the worst I have seen for many a year.

Great win by the guys today and think we are starting to get the respect we deserve.

It was great to see that we are no longer going to be bullied by the top sides, evidenced by Zorzi trying to knock Nat Caruso into next week just before the 3/4 Time siren but he ended up on his behind himself. Zorzi actually went past Caruso after the siren and it looked like he was saying like respect or something like that. Knew we weren't going to lose from there.

Glad the coach was listening to the supporters when he made the decision to put a player (in this case, Fielke) onto Terlich who was having a field day mopping up everything with ease in the first quarter and a half. This changed the game as Fielke then kicked 4 goals and made Terlich more accountable.

Best players athe club were Shannon Green, Aaron Fielke and Ben Macreadie. I thought Shane Birss was also brilliant in his 50th game and Ryan Ferguson was his usual brilliant self. Norwood's only 4 quarter performer were probably Nathan Batsanis and Alexis Georgiou who gave Brad Fisher a bath but it was good to get a few different avenues to goal..

Also a great come from behind victory the reserves who were more than 5 goals down in the third quarter and barely looking like they could kick a goal. Sadly I believe the under 18s lost after being 6 goals to nothing up at quarter time when I went down for presentations.

League:

West 1.0 4.2 7.3 11.8 (74)
Norwood 2.5 5.7 7.9 7.9 (51

Goals
West: Fielke 4, F Caruso, Birss, Caire, Willits, Green, Brad Fisher, Nelson.
Norwood: Phillips 2, Batsanis, Dawe, Thomas, Kirwan, Aish.

Reserves:

West 3.2 3.4 5.5 10.10 (70)
Norwood 5.2 8.3 9.6 9.6 (60)

Goals
West: Borholm 3, Blesing 2, Keough 2, Brown, Westhoff, Favretto.

Sorry I didn't take down Norwood's goalkickers in the reserves

I think we're in a heavy training period Mal.

Well played West.

West are a good side but we are deserved flag favourites IMO.
Just because you beat the top side it doesnt make you flag favourites, remember North destroyed them only a couple of weeks ago.
Would still have have the Dogs slightly ahead of them if I was a bookie.

Always easy to divert attention with supporters like you around Jim

I think we can play much better than we did today, but Westies have improved massively from earlier in the season and I see no reason why they can't continue that .. Whether they win it or not I don't know, but they have a better chance than most.

Im just not one for mind games, I think we should embrace flag favouritsm, we have earnt it. Once we get to finals it all starts again and hopefully we come out on top.
Agreed that Westies are good and no reason why they cant continue their good form and win the flag, their final against the Dogs is shaping up to be a cracker

For some reason westies defensive game style counteracts legs defensive game style.

There might be something in that for Roy ???

Watching the replay on iView seriously the umpiring was crud in the first quarter. Both sides flooded like the creek in the rain behind Richmond Oval.
