Must haves for 2013

Postby Lightning McQueen » Tue Aug 14, 2012 2:30 pm

Delidio, Ablett, Cox, Maric, Beams, Swan, Watson & Boyd would all have to "must haves" for next season and then it's a matter of filling in the blanks from there.

Would guess that Lids will do a Gibbs & be a MID only next year after this season.

Le Cras could also be depending how cheap he is.
If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.

Maric won't be a must have IMO. Will be very expensive and will be in for a lot more attention then he has got this year

See I wouldn’t have any of them as must haves although Beams maybe but not at his current price. I would be saying more like Cotchin, Wright, Jack, Tuck, A. Swallow, O’Keefe, Crouch, Whitfield, Toumpas, L. Osbourne, K. Martin, B. Jones, A. Bradley, Nic Nat and Jacobs

Rookie wise you will be looking at O'Meara and Crouch straight up.

Corey Enright is ever reliable without being a ridiculous price, I will probably go around with him again.
Devon Smith maybe if he doesn't start at too high of a price.

I love the fact that this thread is active already when we still have 3 rounds of the season to go...

How many people are out of the race?

Still in the race but next year I'm gonna pick:

1. Around 15 gun premiums who don't get injured and ton-up every week.
2. Around 15 raw rookies (who nobody else has noticed) who also ton-up every week until the week after I trade them out for another gun premium.
3. A team that somehow gets 2,000+ in all of the bye rounds.

I noticed for the NRL supercoach they are likely to introduce a rolling lockout next year.
Would be handy with players dropping out more often now.
Bring it on.

Apart from the must have's at any price = ABLETT, FRANKLIN, PENDLEBURY, NAITANUI

I will be looking more at Luke HODGE, Matthew LEUENBERGER, Nathan BOCK, Andrew EMBLEY, Marc MURPHY, Nat FYFE, Luke BALL, Mark LECRAS and Josh KENNEDY as must haves.
These guys will all be seriously underpriced if they have a decent preseason and are ready to go round 1.

Lots of water to flow under the bridge between now and then though ...

I paid the penalty of getting players coming back from injury at decent prices this season. I probably wont do it again.

Deledio is named as a pure mid then no
Ablett yes but he will be 600k
Maric no, will not be worth it at his starting price
Beams yes
Swan will be at a new club so might be a bit risky
Watson, champion hopefully Essendon get a few players to help him out
Boyd will be getting older but his ineffective possesions are DT gold

Hodge, Luenberger and Bock maybe. Embley, no, Murphy may finish strongly and push up his price too early to tell, Ball no, Fyfe made of Balsa Wood no, Lecras and Kennedy inconsistent no.

Fyfe and Murphy will be dirt cheap next season so they are locks in my team!
probably LeCras too but depends on how his recovery is going

My rule is to keep away from 2nd year players, too expensive for their return. However, Fyfe in his first year averaged 86 and then second year averaged 98 so he is one of the rare second year players who were worth the $$$. I think Zorko looks to be the only player from this season who can bust out tons each week and maintain a high average. Just my thoughts though
