Yeah, leaving him out of a crucial game against the top side and then making a Bronwlow medallist play ressies the following week is pretty soft.

It is soft. Allowing him to play Ressies the following weak to keep his conditioning up is soft. I applauded the Pies when they made the gutsy decision to suspend him for 2 weeks. I shall now criticise them that they didn't have the balls to keep their word and stick to a 2 week suspension. He should have been kept from playing for the 2 weeks

this is the opening line of the special edition members email i got from the club the day the suspension was announced......

"The Collingwood Football Club today announced that Dane Swan has been suspended for the next two AFL matches."

That's exactly what they've done. suspended him from AFL matches. if they feel it's in their best interest to have Swanny play at a lower level this weekend, then so be it.

Yeah I'm sure he's learnt his lesson, unlike Collingwood. They'll pay again.

Plenty of players get dropped for discinplinary reasons- it doesn't mean no game, just no game in the A's!

I thought it was rubbish that he got two games in the first place. He wasn't drinking in public, he made it to training, he was my DT captain.

It's his inconsideration to the dream team coaches that pissed me off the most.

Great plan Eddie McGuire with Buckley & Malthouse, losing Malthouse as coach is one thing but to Carlton as senior coach.

Krakouer looks like he'll make his return to the senior side this week. Seems so soon, but geez I hope he goes well.

Yep your right there NM, he has done a good job with this.

I like his attacked today about Carlton and the Cap. But come on. Swan, Pendles, Thomas, Beams, Shaw, Jolly etc. and Collingwood are still under the cap too. Eh I reckon as I'm pretty sure the Pies do well out of sponsorships. So really I think Ed needs to relax and breathe. Its all good :D

I know I've been sarcastic and critical of Krakouer, but no slight here, you have to admire what he's doing now.

He came back (after the prison stint) with a blistering season with Swan, then carved up for Collingwood in 2011, and got hurt in the preseason.

Horrible luck, hope he does well in his return.

An injured player makes it back. Happens all the time = no story. A crook plays for Collingwood see above. Good luck to Krak but please don't tell me it's a 'story'. You know what, I reckon we need more footy media outlets. NOT.

as much as i am a fan of krak, i find it hard to find his story heart warming...
he went to jail for bashin someone, it wasnt like he missed a few years because he was out curing cancer.
its obviously great hes back in afl and all, but hard to see it as a courageous story.

that being said i hope he has a......cracker........on the weekend

It's not a story, except for us Pie fans who just want to see him make a successful return from a knee reco.
