We had 2 A graders play in the B grade just to make sure we had 1 on the bench. The 2 A graders swapped of the bench unless one of our regular B graders were knackered. Flinders Uni were a good bunch of blokes who kept on trying.
In the A grade Flinders Uni have improved heaps and a lot of praise must go to their coach who keeps on trying to teach his players. They out scored us by a few points I think in the second quarter. After half time they fell away but if they can keep together for next year I think they will be a lot better side.

Really good call Bigshow82, well done to Bharat, it would have been easy to just give up, but he has done a great job with the group and we are looking forward to saturday to see just how much they have improved. We wont be taking them lightly rest assured.

C'mon Div 7 posters. Lets get it crankin'. Who is your tip to win the b@f. Here's my go at it.

Mark Harrison - Mitchell Pk. Played every game in the top team and a quality player who will get votes.
Glen Mount - TTG. Had a wonderful year and a real vote catcher, 2nd last year.
Sam Fairclough - Henley. Let's face it, umpires know quality and Henley have their own umpire so he is sure to have many 1's.
Clint Dow - TTG. "Midfielder" as a ruckman because of his athletisism. Best big man in the comp.
Michael Mazey - Mitchell pk. Will get a lot but injury will cost him. A class player.

Anyone care to add to the list?

To where?? Div 8 at this stage is set up as a C & D grade comp and play with 25 in each team each week. If you put a clubs A and B grade team down there then this would have to stop. Not sure how many of the clubs in that comp would be happy with this?

From Nth Pines I think Chris Stephens will be our best vote getter but dont think he will get enough to win.

That's cute not talking them lightly.

But you could because they are terrible.

You could even play your gun forward out of position in the backlines and it wouldn't matter..... #respectingyouropposition

This is why we were against coming up to Div7. We no doubt lost a few players because of this and it has hurt us at the end of the year with all our players o/seas.
What if 2 of the C grade clubs had finished bottom two?? Would us or Henly or TTG like to go down?? Not too sure. Or would the top two sides of Div 8 like to come up?? Not sure either!!!

This is where it falls down a little.

We were in the C1 competition a couple of years ago and came up because the competition was thin down there. There were probably on three teams that were competitive all year (one of them being modbury who we played in the GF) and it gets boring when you are smashing teams more often than not.

I was of the understanding that at the time when Div 8 was introduced it was for the benfit of clubs with 4 sides or more? It was to make life easier for them so they would not need as much support staff because all 4 teams would be playing at 2 different grounds instead of needing to find support staff for 3 different locations. I didnt think it was introduced to be part of the promotion/relegation system, thats why they still get 7 on the bench?

Correct BigShow. The Div 8 format has worked really well for us and the competition is much more even. If we make the GF we would not want to get promoted into Div 7. Div 8 should only be for clubs who can fill C/D grade sides.
