University ;)

H31, is that informed or a guess. College tie working beautifully at SACA, gee that would give them
Thornton, Cooper, Christian, Mennie, Hughes, couple of DLA players, Uni at the forefront of developing cricket in SA. That takes care of 1 of our Premier League teams, 3 more required.

No just a wild stab in the dark ;)

However, I hope our DLA player from last season Ben Cox gets in Phil's ear at Worcester and gives him directions to Glandore ;) Even better if Coxy gets permission to come back and he can drive him there himself

Not hard to anticipate the 2-day draw, take last years program and shift it by 2 rounds and swap the home and away teams. E.g. R1 is now R3 playing home instead of away.

Having said that, the draft draw is out with the clubs. The variables are listed below.

West End Cup
R1 - Mon 1 Oct
R2 - Sun 28 Oct
R3 - Sun 2 Dec
QF - Sun 3 Feb
SF - Sun 17 Feb
GF - Sun 3 Mar

2-Day Comp
R1 - Sat/Sun 6 & 7 Oct
R7 - Sat 22 Dec (1-day game)
R8 - Sat/Sun 5 & 6 Jan (1-day only for C & D grade)
R13 - Sat 9 Mar (1-day game)

T20 Comp
R1 - Sun 18 Nov
R2 - Tue 4 Dec
R3 - Tue 11 Dec
R4 - Tue 8 Jan
GF - Sun 20 Jan

Some changes in the dates for the T20 and WEC Comps if you are drawn against SACA U19s.

Disappointing.

Considering the amount of effort put in by the local clubs to host the match and the Grade clubs to get out there, it should be a one dayer IMO.

Nice idea in theory, but 2-3 hours travel each way on top of 6 hours of cricket backing up after playing on a Saturday is a tough ask of the players. A T20 is much less taxing on the players and gives them more of a chance to actually hang around for a beer or two with the locals after the game before heading home. If anything the first WE Cup game of the season (i.e. 1st Oct) would be best suited to country round but then the struggle might be to have decent wickets and outfield available so soon after footy.

Good points.
I'ts not often we get to see cricket of that standard though. Quite a few of the spectators at the game in Berri last season mentioned that they would have liked to see more cricket played. I know our club is very keen to promote games such as this with the locals.

Just realised that Round One is on a normal weekend. The public holiday is on Monday October 1. Will be a bit tough having the full weekend match with no recovery day - bummer re the timing of the public holiday this year.

Rips, you can be assured that the Bulls are pulling out all stops to try and get up there. We have the bye in R2 and are working with your heirachy as to the best way for us to come up on the weekend of the 13th October, play a bit of cricket on the Saturday, socialise on the Sat night, our boys like an ale or two, but after seeing the Berri boys at the Country Carnival next year at the Bull ring, we stand no chance in that contest, then a junior training session on the Sunday at 3 or 4 centres. We will see what develops over the next few weeks.

  Yeah, I heard the boys were in full flight. I'm not sure if Shaun Riley would have been that impressed with them though!
I played a couple of days later in the week and it damn near killed me, the after hours stuff anyway.
Keep me posted re the 13th, sounds really good.
