THE CHAMPS and crockocrack have earnt the double chance with one round to play and are in the box seat for promotion into Hogg Division IV. The Cowboys and the Hammers will contest the finals. JJs Jrunks and BloodnTars face off next week so that means all the teams on nine wins must win to make the finals. Just like every other week in this Divvy..it's been tight!

Noel's Caravans and Mossys Superstars will be relegated to the Bunny Bowl next season but the Motorboats could escape a similar fate with a win next week. The Glory Shed followed up a draw against Bunnyhop last week with a two point loss so not much return there for the Shed in two close contests. That's the sort of stuff that relegation is made off. Sturt B were stiff to get rolled with a 2363 as that is a good score for a team threatened with relegation. EIMC even more stiff but at least Lightning is not facing the drop. Similar scoring from both next week should see them get the desired outcome. The wonder elephants form in recent weeks has been pretty rank but they should survive the drop and Bunnyhop and Woolballs have escapted relegation but their run of good form has come too late to see them make the finals this year.

Congratulations to THE CHAMPS who secured the minor premiership by racking up a truly impressive score of 2632 to dispose of top eight opposition pafc1870. The news was all bad for Squiddy this week as he had to defeat the mighty Cowboys to stay in the eight seeing as JJ's Jrunks and BloodnTars were playing off in the last round. Despite an improved effort from Squiddy this week, Nek Minnit he is out of the eight as JJs Jrunks took care of BloodnTars who could quite get from a relegation battle to a late finals appearance.

In the relegation zone it's bye bye to Motorboats, Mossys Superstars, Noel Caravans and Sturt B who will all be playing in the Bunny Bowl next season. As far as promotion goes remember that fourth ranked whufc is not eligible for promotion from Division V as he's already up in Division IV. He's doubled up doubled up this year.

I want to cry. I don't think I have ever had so many injuries in a fantasy game ever. Never again will I pick anyone from Essendon, a team Ross Lyon coaches or a big dud who gets concussed each week.I will learn from these lessons and become a much better coach next season. Planning for my 2013 side has already begun.

Hogg Division V Finals Previews

Elimination Finals
EIMC v JJs Jrunks
Heaters Hotshots v pafc1870

Qualifying Finals
THE CHAMPS v whufc (If CHAMPS win they will be promoted to Division IV)
Hzlwood Pk Cowboys v crockocrack (winner promoted to Division IV)

This league has proven to be surprisingly strong this season so all of the teams above are worthy finalists. In the knockout finals I’m tipping an upset by JJs Jrunks over Lightning’s EIMC as JJ has proven to be one of the most improved teams in the Hogg this season and I reckon he can survive another week. Heater and pafc1870 have also had much better seasons here but I’m liking the Hotshots to advance to the semis next week.
In the Quallies THE CHAMPS have taken all before them in recent weeks and racked up a truly scary score last week which sees them cherry ripe for a finals win against the hammers. The Hammers of course are already in Division IV so other Divvy V coaches will be hoping he gets up but I can’t see that happening. The Cowboys fell off their horse a few weeks back but seem to have got back on it in time to make a big statement for the finals and I reckon the Hzlwood Pk boys can edge out crockocrack.

I thankyou for having faith in my boys the Jrunks, but as mentioned in the Bunny thread, i've got my back up against the wall, and i may very well be lambs for the slaughter, depending on how EIMC's final squad looks. i've got 2 donuts.

No donuts for me, but still expecting my finals foray to be a short one. Still a big improvement on last year where I only just avoided relegation

Congratulations to THE CHAMPS and crockocrack who have been promoted to Hogg Division IV as a result of their wins in the first week of the finals. The CHAMPS smashed a sluggish whufc outfit by over two hundred points to earn their honour but crack did it a bit tougher against the Cowboys who carded a respectable score and are a good bet to get one of the two remaining Division IV spots.

The Jrunks only just snuck into the eight and in the race for the flag they remain despite a lowish score to end EIMCs Hogg year by 86 points. In the tightest final in the Division Heater's Hotshots had to dig deep to fight off pafc1870 and remain in the hunt for promotion.

So next week's winners will earn promotion but remember whufc cannot go up. Here is the scenario for next week.

whufc vs. JJs Jrunks (40709)
Hzlwood Pk Cowboys (42453) v Heaters Hotshots (40390)

whufc, Cowboys win - Cowboys, Jrunks go up unless Hotshots outscore them by 320.
whufc, Hotshots win - Hotshots, Cowboys go up unless Jrunks outscore them by 1745 points!
Jrunks, Cowboys win - Both go up
Jrunks, Hotshots win - Both go up

Clear as mud really!

Hogg Division V Finals Preview

1st Semi Final whufc vs. JJs Jrunks

Jrunks 303 (Goddard 116, Enright 106, J Selwood 81) lead whufc (Goddard 116, J Selwood 81, N Riewoldt 0)

JJs Jrunks should win this one from here as the hammers haven't looked at their team this week with Roo on the field and Buddy as a non scoring emergency. This means that JJs Jrunks will be promoted along with the winner of the Hzlwood Pk Cowboys v Heaters Hotshots match.

2nd Semi Final Hzlwood Pk Cowboys v Heater's Hotshots

Hzlwood Pk Cowboys 197 (Goddard 116, J Selwood 81) lead Heaters Hotshots 178 (Goddard 116, Chapman 67)

A low scoring start in this match as the Geelong players of both had relatively quiet games. Heater still a chance but he has some pretty ordinary uniques so I don't think he can overcome the Cowboys. Hzlwood Pk Cowboys will win this one fairly easily in the end and be promoted to Hogg Division IV next season.

errrmmmmm............ either the great REB has his wires crossed, or SuperCoach itself does......?

My Jrunks are playing against WHUFC, and the Cowboys and Hotshots are going head to head.

but looking at WHUFC's team, something seems a bit 'off'

he's got Nick Riewoldt starting, with Buddy on the Bench not named as an Emergency. :-?

Look ahoy boys...two tips, two winners! Now let's have no more of this 'mozz' talk eh? JJ's cleaned up a disinterested hammers outfit (if only Villa could do the same!) to earn promotion to Hogg Division IV next season. The Jrunks have really improved this season and will be a competitive unit in the higher grade next year. In the other semi the Cowboys had a tough match up against the Hotshots and got over the line by 40 points to join the Jrunks in Division IV next year.

Looking ahead the Jrunks appear to have the 'easier' Prelim against crockocrack (I actually checked this time) while the Cowboys will play THE CHAMPS in what looks set to be a tough qualifier. The winners of these two Preliminary Finals will not only qualify for the Division V Grand Final but will have also earnt themselves a spot in the Champions League next year so game on lads.

Hogg Division V Finals Preview

1st Preliminary Final crockocrack vs. JJ’s Jrunks

The Jrunks have had a brilliant finals series fighting it out deep into two Hogg leagues and earning himself promotion into Hogg Division IV in the process. If he can defeat Hogg newbie crockocrack in the Preliminary Final he can earn further honours by winning through to next year’s Hogg Champions League. The crocks’ first season in the Hogg has been a pretty good one and he has done well to earn promotion and to have the same opportunity to participate in the HCL in just his second season. crockocrack has had the better year but I reckon the Jrunks are travelling a bit better when it counts and that JJs Jrunks will win and go on to greater things next season.

2nd Preliminary Final THE CHAMPS vs. Hzlwood Pk Cowboys

This is a massive final as I reckon whoever wins this match will go on and win the Hogg Division V Premiership. Minor Premiers THE CHAMPS haven’t done much wrong in recent weeks and won through in fine style in the Qualifying Final but playing against the Cowboys is a much tougher assignment than disposing of the wavering hammers outfit. Overall the Cowboys look to have the better side and even though he has Selwood has Gibson in as coverage, a player that is in the starting six for THE CHAMPS. With Buddy back to boost a pretty good forward line, it’s hard to see anything other than a Hzlwood Pk Cowboys victory in this one.

Close game at the moment.

Crocks: 27 + Johnson + Porplyzia+ Tom Campbell (Possible late inclusion)
JJ: Enright and Pavlich

Not particulary sure who will get up from here. Hoping Pavlich is a late withdrawal as JJ has Wilson as his emergency and he got 19 only.
