Kellock was super impressive the game I saw. I think he'll take it out comfortably.

My tip for the medal is Kellock. Form has been brilliant and is a real vote catcher. Langhorne Creek for the flag as well with just about a full squad to pick from they will be hard to beat.

GSFL Movements

Good game at Willunga today with a solid win by Willunga and a fitting Guard of Honour and minutes silence in respect of a man taken far before his time.

Although Victor are the only side to defeat the Demons so far this year many may have seen that as an abomination esp with them missing some key players that day, but some good form over the last couple of weeks would have given Victor confidence going into today. With a decent breeze across the ground providing some assistence to the northern end for Victor in the first, Willunga got off to a good start with 2 on the board both with the help of the men in white. But Victor settled and battled hard and by quarter time should have been in front with more scoring shots but Willunga led 4-1 to 2-5 with Brown causing problems up forward. Victor got the first in the second quarter but then Willunga got their tails up and lead Victor a merry dance all over the field to bang on 4 unanswered goals (and BJ proving hard to contain). Willunga 8-7 to VH 3-7 at the long break.

Victor lifted in the 3rd finally gaining some ascendancy in the clearances with Ryan rucking well after Burbridge was stretchered off with an ankle injury in the second quarter. Iljcesen was the dominant forward on the field and at 3 quarter time the scoreboard read Willunga 9-12 to Victor 7-10. The last quarter was a pretty even affair but Willunga had the answers and always had the game just out of Victor's reach. Final scores Willunga 13-14 d Victor 10-12 For victor Ryan marked strongly around the ground, Iljcesen was dominant up forward and kicked beautifully with 6 and Graham was good in defence. Willunga had more players with polish and had the best runners in Portlock and Baxter and Meigel.

Interesting to see both McLaren and Encounter Bay both go down to less fancied opponents.. Can anyone shed any light on where these games were won and lost???

Bottom 5 would be kickin them selves for mIssed chances. Mclaren are in a huge hole and no one can get that spot

Haven't heard any umpire complaints this year which is good but yesterday in the Goolwa lanhorne game it was rubbish. Not on a's but the colts and b's was a joke. I know theres a shortage and these grades not matter as much but this was 3v4 and 1v2. 3 weeks out from finals. Terrible umpiring by some old school part timers. Don't know what limb and LF thought.

Have thought the umpiring this year has been pretty good generally. Especially compared to that rubbish umpiring often seen in the AFL.
Always gonna get a few bad decisions here and there which is what sticks in peoples mind the most.
Same 2 guys did the senior colts & 'B' grade yesterday at Goolwa which wouldn't be the easiest thing to do. One of the guys was an ex Goolwa Player i believe? Certainly no suggestion of bias. Senior colts i thought there were some softish frees handed out but they went both ways and certainly didn't affect the result of the match. Didn't see much of the 'B's but assumed they would've umpired in the same style.
Cant always go on crowd reaction to umpiring standard as sometimes they're so far off the mark with their biased pleas for holding the ball etc that it makes one wonder if they're watching the same game but they're entitled to their $6 worth i suppose.

Unfortunately the Goolwa umpire is one of those guys that probably calls less for Goolwa so he looks fairer. Then you have the neutral umpire who was desperate to give whatever he could to the creeks. Not sure if he's a relation to follett but walking within 5 metres generally saw him get a free. Up the other end a Goolwa player would be lucky to get a look in if he got stabbed. Its only bs and colts so no Big deal and There's a massive shortage of umps but this time of tge year may be ladder positions should be considered

To be honest I didn't actually notice the umpiring too much which makes me think they must've been doing ok. From what I could tell they called it as they saw it.. there would've been a few that they missed but that's life.

Have this direct from a SOBER spectator in the pocket where it happened, Was arguing with his opponent and got whacked by another (48) who ran in from the side when he wasnt looking. Then got a boot in the head for his trouble when he hit the deck after being punched. Not sure of reports etc. but was told 48 left the field with an 'injury' very soon after and didn't return.

heard someone from the bays has footage of the incident, i mean its country football, if you argue with an opposition player instead of being a dirty p*ick, why doesnt the player get some of the ball instead. Things like this should be treated a bit more harsh, we dont want to turn into the Southern league which is full of snipers, this is just my opinion after playing down there for a few seasons.

At the Creek i believe it will come from the following, Kellock, Johnson, Derham or McGregor. My tip would be: 1) Kellock, 2) McGregor, 3) Johnson, 4) Derham

All 4 have missed games with either injury or State Duty or some with both. Most games played of the group is Derham with only state duty resulting in him missing a game. Kellock and McGregor are a real vote catchers and will pole well in the games they played. Johnson and Derham both have had a very consistent years with some standout games. Derham has won 2 medals "The Anzac Day Medal and the Inter League Medal for BOG in GSFL Vs SFL game. All are goal kickers !! Johnson, Kellock and Derham all played State Country and so too would have McGregor had he been fit, im sure.

Really its a toss up at the Creek but im certain the top 3 or 4 places will be made up of the above. There are always smokeys and mine would be either Rothe or Warren.
